Wow that would be quite something to see for sure.

I recently went on a plane, one of the landings was extremely rough. I'm not one to fear of anything bad happening and I kept telling myself "What are the odds it happens to me, on my 2nd time flying" but right around touch down I had a legit moment where I feared for my life and realized "wait, it CAN happen!" as the plane was skidding all over the run way in what felt like a 45 degree angle. The pilot was quickly able to straighten the plane out and stabilize it though. Everybody was tense for that moment and looking at each other with a sign of relief once the plane stopped. I think the props blades can be flipped so it pushes instead of pulls, so it acts as a brake so once that was applied it helped.

Definitely need to know your stuff and be a quick thinker as a pilot.

Its not a rough landing until everyone starts applauding when you come to a stop.

what the hell is it with people commenting on real pilots doing real things with replies on what they did in a video game?

Do they not realize how stupid it makes them sound?

Thank you! It's not even so much that he draws parallels between entertainment simulators and the real deal (there are many), it's just the arrogant "psh, no big deal, happens all the time" douchiness of his reply.

This is the 2nd time I've replied to John Conner this evening; what a piece of work he is...

Your a piece of work! If you can't read about Lockheed Martin's Prepar3d than you must be some kind of retard! All three sims; FS2004, FSX and Prepar3d have the capability to fly from VORs and NDBs. Radial or bearings. The FMC is there all the way to air conditioning and cabin pressure. PMDG, the maker of my 737 NG has teamed up with Boeing to make a product that flies and functions like the real life counter part. You want realism? Grab Prepar3d and the PMDG 737 NGX. You can't get any more real than that. But I regress, most of you clowns who want to say bull shit about sims most likely haven't flown a 737 NG and even know how to program the FMC, use SIDS and STARS and at least know how to start the engines. This is where we can say that the nay Sayers don't know shit.

Once again! From the Prepar3d website:

Training meets reality with Lockheed Martin’s Prepar3D® simulation software. Private pilots, commercial organizations, militaries and academia rely on Prepar3D for immersive, experiential learning.

Prepar3D (pronounced “prepared”) is a visual simulation platform that allows users to create training scenarios across aviation, maritime and ground domains. Users can train anywhere in the virtual world, from underwater to sub orbital space.

Prepar3D furthers the development of Microsoft® ESP™ while maintaining compatibility with Microsoft Flight Simulator X, allowing many thousands of add-ons to be used within Prepar3D.
The latest prepar3D released in November is incompatible with the PMDG 737 NGX. However, the 1.4 version will work.

Here is the EULA of Prepar3d.

PLEASE READ THIS AGREEMENT CAREFULLY. YOU ARE AGREEING TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT, PLEASE DISCONTINUE USAGE. IF YOU DO AGREE TO THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF YOURSELF AND/OR THE ENTITY YOU REPRESENT YOU MAY CONTINUE USAGE.

1. License Grant. Subject to the terms and conditions of this EULA, Licensor hereby grants Licensee a fully paid-up, nontransferable, nonsublicensable, nonexclusive license during the Term of this EULA to use the Software, but only on no more than one computer at any one time, only by no more than one user at any one time, and only for purposes other than personal/consumer entertainment.

Please read the full End User License Agreement (EULA) here.

Who can use Prepar3D®? - From the Prepar3D web site FAQ"

Prepar3D is offered for professionals, students and developers:

• Professionals – This license is intended for professional skills training. This group could include private pilots, commercial flight schools, military personnel, civil organizations such as firefighters/emergency response or students pursuing a technical degree or an advanced degree such as a masters or PhD.

• Students – An academic license at a reduced price is available for educational purposes at the undergraduate college level and below (students in elementary, middle, high school or pursuing a bachelor’s degree). This is an extension of our philanthropic support for STEM education to engage the next generation of technologists and engineers.

• Developers – For the individuals or companies who are interested in developing aircraft models, scenery, terrains and weather effects for Prepar3D, we offer a Prepar3D developer license.

Please be aware that the three license types have different end-user license agreements (EULAs) and usage restrictions. For more details, please review the "License Comparison page".

Can Prepar3D be used for entertainment?

No, Lockheed Martin does not offer Prepar3D for entertainment, and we have no plans to enter the entertainment space. The EULAs explain that Prepar3D can be used for purposes other than personal/consumer entertainment.

Thanks for posting the EULA. Where do I sign up to not care?

That said, I think people posting their sim experience with this particular airport have more relevant perspective than most of us so I don't mind that at all. Haters: Leave him alone.

Don't mean to be a prick or anything, just stating the facts of the flight sim capabilities and they have really evolved. Look at the 9/11 hijackers. They took commercial jets and slammed them into the world trade towers. They even practiced on Flight Simulator, but that was back then. Now flight simulation has gone a long way and will continue to evolve.

This all started when I said I practice emergency landings with one engine out. All flight dynamics are there and can be simulated. Kill both engines and your going down. Have to pitch down and pray that you can start your engines.

Hookers is plural, I posted one, ONE image of a beautiful blonde in a sexy santa outfit that was on Google. She wasn't a hooker. Take your pick. https://www.google.com/search?q=blo...4YHwCA&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1440&bih=686&dpr=1

"I looked over the water and my heart stopped," added San Diego resident Ashley Zmyslo. "Everyone started freaking out. A lady screamed. Someone got up and walked toward the cockpit. It was honestly one of the scariest things that's ever happened."

Her friend sitting a few rows away sent her this tweet: "If this plane crashes, at least Ashley and I will die together #happythoughts."

Unless her friend wasn't actually afraid... D:

 Real pilots use flight simulators. They are also actually worth credit towards becoming a pilot.

yea no shit but you do know there is a HUGE difference than a fully mobile/articulation flight sim capsule with a fully replicated cabin to a dell laptop right?

Just because you like looking at dicks and shit (literally) doesn't mean the rest of us want to see it.

You either need the ban stick or an ass kicking, I can't figure out which. But I will be happy as hell as soon as you get either or both.

Now join Alky on the gimp list. Its where trash like you belongs.

I'd spell it out for you, but this is already in type so that would be redundant.

Figure it out.

Blacklists are childish. A real man wages campaigns of character assassination until his opponent is forced to make a new account or else stick around as the village idiot.

A bird died a horrible death and all you motherfuckers can talk about is how real flight simulators are?

In the time it took you to complain about us ignoring one bird that died faster than you can inhale, you killed thousands of microorganisms, you hypocrite. Your argument is ridiculous; your grievance is itself meaningless; welcome, welcome to to club circlejerk, you already fit right in.
