hmmm... for that same 130k you might as well buy a new GT (well I guess the GT is 180k, but still what's another 40%, besides THEN you can have the ability to still upgrade).

Sorry but no you can't. The GT ALREADY comes with a blower just to get up to the level it is at, and it still can't touch a Ling. vette

$130k? Since when did a Corvette cost $80k? Even the Z06 isn't that much!

The fastest thing you can get for the price of the car+mod (~$100k->$110k) would be a Viper, which doesn't even come close.

1k off a 50k package doesn't seem like a Hot Deal to me!

Anyhow, anyone comtemplating a $50k add on to their vette probably isn't trolling this forum...nor would the 1k discount make a damn bit of difference to them!

LOL

Wow that's friggen expensive! And here I was thinking that an Active Autowerke turbocharger kit for my bimmer was expensive @ $11K! Then again, that's just about 450hp. No need to calculate ratios here...

lingenfelter corvettes are ridiculously fast. This is a good alternative to buying the actual tuned tt corvette from them for 127k.

and this produces better figures on the z06. It's more like 800 bhp and 0-60 in around 2 and a 1/4 mile under 9 seconds.

8 seconds on street tires?
lol dude

also: you could build your own turbo kit easily for under $15,000 with premium components, (ball bearing, GT series turbos, stainless piping, weld-el manifolds, big ass custom intercooler, etc)

and you could build megasquirt EFI to control the fuel injection for $200. Add $1000 MAX for injectors and fuel pump/rails, etc. http://www.bgsoflex.com/megasquirt.html

A few thousand in dyno tuning time, and you have a corvette with as much, or more HP than the linginfelter for 1/3 the price

I'd like to see that.

There's no way any car runs 8's on street tires...unless they consider those D.O.T. approved drag radials as street tires. :Q

Looks like they have some videos here ----> Videos (scroll down the page)

BTW - There ain't no way in he!! you can go 0 to 60 in 2 seconds unless you've got a jet engine in your trunk 🙂

Whats the fun in having someone else build you a fast car? There's no pride in that. The car's fast in the 1/4 mile but has no soul.. someone else put their own sweat and time into building it.

My thoughts exactly. Yeah, its gonna take time to tune, but it'll cost less AND you did it yourself.

I have driven my brothers ZO6... and NO you could never build anything that nice... That car is the sweetest ride I have ever been in.

just my two pennies....

You guys have to understand that LPE actually WARRANTIES their engines. That is HUGE! They'll build you a killer package that nearly nobody can touch and then fix it if you manage to break it! Their engine combos are typically tuned a bit under what they are truly capable of too to help you not break it. If you waiver the warranty they'll crank it up some for you.

A buddy of mine is attempting to be the first 6-speed C5 into the 8s this season with his LPE TT Z06. The car is nutty fast. You would absolutely never realize what you were standing next to while it was idling in a parking lot at your local Blockbuster. No badges, no decals, no nothing. Completely tame around town until you hit the loud pedal.

So what do YOU drive?

So much money for sooooooo little....I paid $3,000 for my stock one owner 1987 Vette....$3,000 later it makes 500hp at the crank--good for 11 secs at the track. How much money do you think i would have to spend to make 800hp???? Hint...not a lot...lol...not to mention the traction problems with anything over 500hp. Just my two N/A cents.

and?

a stock z06 is an incredible bargain. lots of power, and handles very well. no seriously, there are american cars that can turn.

Just buy a liter sportbike for about 10k and less than 5k in mods, superbike school, and track time and you can faster in a straight line AND twisties than that corvette.

Or just spend 12k on a busa and a few bucks on mods to get into the mid 9s

=)

Apples and oranges of course 😀

I agree that the warranty is huge... how many people can offer that for such a large increase in performance?
