Back in stock for the SATA!

Got one.

Wow, out of stock again already.

But the IDE is available still.

Edit: got an email saying the order went through, that's promising.

Edit 2: got an email saying it shipped.

Purchased one of these a few days ago, gutted it and took pics. Currently tracking down datasheets on all the chips, but so far it's very interesting. There's more in there than meets the eye... A lot more.

Hopefully more info to follow.

Anyway you can test out if it will stream to the 360?

My conclusion is that you're going to have to mount it to a Windows Machine, then add it in Windows Media Player as a place the Xbox 360 can see for movie/music/pictures.

I would have grabbed a SATA one just for the heck of it.

Does anyone know if the Seagate Free Agent eSATA 500 GB drives are actually sata on the inside of the enclosure? I have one sitting around I would have opened and used for this NAS.

Can you use something like this with the WD media player? You could transfer or record stuff directly on the drive over the network and presumably the WD player can access the content using the USB hookup?

I do not think so. Those USB ports are to add storage to that NAS if I am not mistaken.

I have the WD media player and I am thinking about going with the Rosewill JBOD enclosure. Slap two 1tb in one enclosure and that gives you 2tb of storage on one USB port. Add two of the enclosures and that is 4tb total. That is a lot of movies !!

There are some NAS boxes that will stream. I linked to one earlier in the thread.

I picked up the SATA version and put a 500GB Seagate in it. So far I have have setup is a few un/pw mapped drives. All in all is has the same features as a Dlink DNS-323 I have setup at work minus support for 2 drives.

Data sheets? What are your plans?

DAMN IT. I received mine on Saturday and just inspected it now, it's an IDE one NOT SATA! And of course my email invoice specifically says I ordered the SATA version! And this was purchased with store credit from the last time they screwed up!

My shipping info says it hasn't yet been picked up, and I placed my order on 1/22.

Fedex still says it'll be here on 1/28 😛

I'll take it off your hands if you don't want it.

Looks like mine was delivered a day earlier than anticipated. I'll take a peek at it when I get home tonight.

IDE Back in stock, $33 shipped, still thinking if I should pull the trigger, I got a brand new 200gig IDE drive laying around that I've never used.
