What is Obama's foreign policy experience???

His dad is from KENYA!!!

Did you know he was a community organizer? While doing that he ran into a few recent immigrants looking for handouts.

Uhmm.. the Senate Foreign Relations Committee?

You mean the whole year and a half Obama spent on the Foreign Relations Committee before he decided to run for President?

Was that before or after he was a professor of constitutional law, Illinois state senator, and United States senator?

I'm going to agree that SP's total lack of foreign policy experience is not really a big issue.

However, the lies that can be heard all over the news about how "she lives near a border therefore by osmosis she has lots of foreign policy experience."
Yea, those lies ARE an issue. All lying is wrong, especially when it comes to politics. I wish people would just stick to the issues and not give people what they "want to hear" but instead, the truth.

It may not be as glamorous as Sarah's foreign policy experience by osmosis, but it'll do.

I swear. Some of you guys act like foreign policy is handled by one person and one person only in Washington. You also act like we have never had any presidents in our past that both lacked foreign policy experience and handled it just fine once they became pres. Likewise, some of you act like we have never had presidents that had plenty of foreign policy experience, but handled it like shit.

Get over it. It is important, but it is not the center of the universe.

dude, they kept Cheney alive for 8 years (not saying that's a good thing). McCains not going to die if he's elected.

Cheney drinks virgin blood so that doesn't count. And your stating McCain won't die doesn't make it true. At the very least he's at a risk far far higher than other candidates, and that makes his #2 more relevant than other candidates, which he himself admitted earlier in the year. He promised to pick someone who'd be ready to run the country on day 1 should something happen to him. I hate Romney, but qualifications-wise, it's not even close to Palin. McCain would be the oldest president ever elected if he wins. Reagan had alzheimers while in office. He wasn't kidding when he said "I don't recall" all the time.

Oh please, the guy working the ice cream stand at Disney has more "foreign policy experience" than that, especially considering Obama hasn't been actually involved in much at the senate since he's been running for president for at least a year.

Someone please help me out and fill this vacuous hole in my mind where her foreign policy experiences should be.

Its not like the guy on top of the other ticket should not be asked the same, let alone his experience in governing something. I don't seem to recall this being a real issue of Bush or Clinton.

The simple fact is, when one Presidential candidate is so unqualified that you have to pick apart a Vice Presidential candidate it speaks volumes for the problems one party has

You know...there are lots of "professionals" out there with tons of "experience" amongst many professions that I wouldn't hire for a nickel because they suck at their job. On the other hand, there are also those with a lot less experience that I would pay top dollar for because they have convinced me that they can do the job right. Surely you have been in that kind of situation as well. We all have.

The point is that arguing about the amount of experience one has is a waste of time. Arguing what one can and is willing to do with their experience is what counts.

FYI: neither has McCain, who has the worst attendance record of the entire Senate, and hasn't even voted in it since April.

I wonder what he's been doing since April...

not really a big deal on either of their parts. there's not a whole lot to do in the senate for the vast majority of bills unless they come down to individual votes mattering, in which case I couldn't see either of them not hoping on a jet back to DC.

Oh I agree that both candidates have been busy on the campaign trail, it's just that I get irked by these constant "Senator Present" remarks about Obama when McCain has an even worse attendance record these past 2 years.

Hypocrisy is my #1 peeve, by far.

The simple fact is ..... It's called pointing out the McCain camp hypocrisy by applying the same standards to SP that they were oh so fond of all summer.

And the question was posed to Clinton endlessly during the campaign season against Bush Sr.

It was one of the major GOP talking points along with "Draft dodger". And W. was repeatedly asked about foreign affairs and failed miserably. We see where that got us in hindsight.

One could argue that Obama's startling popularity in, oh, every other country on earth gets him off on the right foreign policy foot.
