Well I totally didn't hate it like a lot of folks seem to.

There isn't much on right now and I found it entertaining.

Also, the lot of you (except for a few) need to realize the difference between horrible acting and horrible writing.

I think the direction was a bit off. Time will tell if it was a direction issue.

Could be. I still don't have much hope the show will last beyond the episodes that have already been filmed.

Concur. I think it is very important that tomorrows episode be better than tonights. If not, this show will loose alot of viewers because I can only assume people will give it a chance tomorrow. What else is on after all?

4) I thought Hollywood hired scientists so people wouldn't say WTF anymore. A chair stopped bullets? PATHETIC! Heck, just strap some Pillows to John and he'll be fine.

This is as old as when film was invented.

I know, but people are smarter these days and people are rejecting stupid plots and dumb sh!t like this. This show is aimed at geeks and todays Hollywood knows better. Which makes me wonder who the heck is responsible for the bullet proof pollyfill.

Apparently you're one of the many who must have been too geek flustered when they first saw that happen that they then weren't paying attention when they said that chair was lined with Kevlar - an obvious attribute of Sarah's paranoia and being extremely prepared (further evidence is how they live in a way that they can pack up and move in a moments notice, the most important items for packing being their "guns"...I say "guns" because its more than likely they're packing black market heat and not your standard pea shooters). This was actually one of the cool things about the show that presents pretty good potential.

Well, according to TV.com, there are 9 episodes scheduled through March 3rd. I guess we'll have to see if it gets any better and what the writer's strike will do.

I just did some more research. They have to use scripts for later episodes that are not polished thanks to the strike. This could get bad, even if it keeps me watching for 5 episodes. Apparently what you saw tonight was polished.

So...did they travel forward or backward through time? I never saw anywhere that it showed the original date.

I didn't think it was too bad. I really like the Terminator universe, so that probably helped it out in my eyes. Compared to all of the absolute crap that is on TV, it's pretty good.

I must have been the only person who thought it was pretty cool. I'd watch anything with Summer Glau though.

show needs to be great tommrow, if this was running after 24 like they planed they could of gotten by with a slow start since 24 would serve up the viewers, but prison break imo isn't going to do it it needs to stand on its own.

I really admire modern technology. Apparently Fox has replaced all human actors with robots for the show, very futuristic.

its okay I'll have to see the 2nd episode to how it goes.

but seeing as how the strike is still going on and the kinda of promotion fox ran for this we can expect to see all episodes that were filmed.

I watched the first hour and didn't like it. It pretty much reshearsed the movies, especially the first two (I watched all 3 of them). I didn't stick around and watch the 2nd hour.

I had no expectations and thought it was just OK. That said I will probably watch again tonight.

For people saying it was just like a rehash of the movies... I agree the first hour was, but wasn't the first hour basically a set-up for the rest of the season, which seems to be new territory?

It was pretty dumb overall, but you're asking a guy that doesn't think anything outside the original film is canon.

Main problems were that the terminator couldn't hit shit...and why didn't she rip his head off after she stuck his finger in a light socket?

While the whole thing didn't make sense and the bank scene overall was particularly stupid (one dude can build a time machine AND hide it in a bank?) I did sort of like the idea of sending an engineer back to build an energy weapon.

The best parts were: Summer Glau in a jean skirt and Summer Glau in a tight white top.

There wasn't a 2nd hour last night. The 2nd hour of the premiere comes on tonight.

Could be worse. Could have been that annoying Football robot they show during the football games.

Which brings me to another point. The most impressive part of Terminator last night was that Fox managed to schedule the NFC playoff game at the right time so that it didn't interfere with Terminator starting on time.

It wasn't complete crap, watchable, but still a mockery of T1 and T2.

The 'bad' terminator I didn't care for; he seems too much like a real person and a pretty boy. Maybe Arnold and Robert Patrick set too high a bar. Hell, even Kristanna Loken did better.

The 'good' terminator just doesn't seem believable as a terminator. Come on, you can send one machine back in time to protect you and you choose the 5'6" petite model over the 6'3 'roider one. Maybe it blends in more, but come on...

As a show in general, I didn't care for the classic cable-sitcom use of claustorphobic camera angles (long, extended close-up shots of actor's face). It definately had the Fox signature to it. Lots of the dialogue I didn't care for. I found myself flipping to other channels a lot while there was no action or 'useful' dialogue.
