Hi,
Recently i have upgraded my CPU from i5 750 to Ryzen R5 1500x With Asus B350M Plus Motherboard & 16 GB RAM. With Intel i5 750 + R7 265 Dual X i had no issues of CTD. After upgrading, am getting CTD for All Games. I have tried updating Bios & All Drivers Still Crashes after 5 minutes of game play.

Finally Tried uninstalling the R7 265 Dual Drivers downloaded from AMD & used Microsoft's Win 10 drivers basic driver which installed automatically. Surprisingly no CTD. I played more than hours of all games which was crashing earlier. And also Windows 10 detects my Sapphire R7 265 Dual X as Radeon HD 7800. Kindly help with this issue.

Thanx in advance.

I highly doubt that it's a Ryzen compatibility issue, I'm willing to believe that it might be more of a power-usage issue, with the new components. Did you replace the PSU? What brand / model is it, and how old is it?

I use Antec VP450P 450W PSU. Just One year old PSU. as i mentioned in the earlier post I have no issues with Windows 10 Default Driver (Which detects my Graphic Card as Radeon HD 7800 instead R7 265)

That PSU is a bit on the low side, the GPU itself can eat up almost 300W.

That said, I also highly doubt it is an issue with Ryzen itself, could be a BIOS / motherboard issue (or the card itself) though.

If so why would it work without installing drivers...!!

Because it is not running at full power without the AMD drivers, as Larry said?

R7-265 and HD7850 are the same GPU, Pitcairn Pro, released in March of 2012. So Windows identifying it as a 7800 series GPU is correct.

But my question is why its not working with new setup with Ryzen 1500x CPU & Asus B350M Plus motherboard. It was working well with intel Core i5 750 + intel H55 Original Mobo.

Get MSI Afterburner and underclock core and memory clocks by a bit and see if it is still crashing.

Yesterday installed original drivers for R7 R265 Dual X & turned off System tray & notifications option in Radeon app. Now it seems like working. Since yesterday no crash. & also set the target FPS to 60.
