I just had a reply from Sapphire technical support. They said that the red LED on the back of the card refers to a thermal issue. Since the card is not on long enough to even get hot (it is cold to the touch), they have said that I need to RMA it.
This is a copy of the e-mail they sent me.
'Thank you for your mail. Sir, The Red LED light code is (D15)-R819 thermal issue. You need to contact your online reseller for checking and apply for RMA process. Thank you.'
If I get the same problem with the replacement card, then I will try the BIOS update.
