I thought the I3's were being released today as well
they were selling sb at central computer yesterday, and they werent exactly crowded with anandtechers rushing to get one. in fact in the twenty minutes i was there they didnt sell a single one! its looks like sb is destined to be a huge flop....
Maybe they all went to micro center instead
Core i5-2500 (non k) for $209.00 with free shipping - Newegg
For those of us who don't overclock, is that the only difference between K and non K?
My local mc has no 2600k and 4 2500k's left
go to newegg ! They have them.

Trying to decide between the i7 and the i5. I doubt I'll see much of any improvement in gaming between them since the only difference is 100mhz and I believe... Hyperthreading?
Using the H67 would also give me the possibility of switchable graphics in the future, although cost is kind of unknown and it seems all the nicer boards (not even talking $200+ range) are all P67. The board I'm looking at now is the GA-P67A-UD3P.
EDIT:
I'm also not planning on OC'ing so the loss of that with the H67 wouldn't be a big deal.
On The EVGA forums the chicago MC was canceling web orders because they oversold. I'd be so pissed to get there and not get a chip.
Yep as I posted in another thread here, that's what happened to me.
Just make up your freakin mind MicroCenter....its not as if you DIDNT KNOW this was coming. If you don't want to let people order and reserve online, then PLAN AHEAD and make it so. Don't let them order, and say there is stock inventory (which was counting down too so its not as if it wasnt tracking online) and then cancel everyone out.
If I can find a combo or something to bring the post-tax price close, I'll buy it online so I don't reward this behavior from MicroCenter.

Ehhh maybe not so much.....I still gotta research boards but an MSI board for 180.....I was hoping to get Asus P8p67 regular or Pro.
I think I need to relax a bit and let this fall out.
My guess is MC will get more shipments in and then they'll want to sell me one. If they raise their price back up to $369.99 or whatever, then they've priced themselves out completely.
And hard to believe MC was "surprised" by the fact that if they price it $70-80 bucks below everyone else, that people will go buy there.......
Could always wait a week and see what happens.
Just received a backorder notice on the i5-2500k chip from MC. It will stay open for 30 days so hopefully, they will get enough in to fill the orders by then. Gives me time to research boards just in case it ships in the 30 day window.
