San Fran: Restaurant workers want 25% *Mandatory* tip

When did food servers become commissioned sales people?

they're not sales people, they are service people. sales people don't do dick for you. Though, maybe some of them will suck your dick if you buy an order of paper. :hmm:

anyway, commissioned is correct--but that is the point, really. commission for service, if adequate.

I guarantee that most Americans that bitch and moan, and refuse to tip over here would go to a restaurant in Europe and bitch and howl even louder because of "shitty god awful service" and demand some sort of refund or acknowledgment from the restaurant, only to find that they simply don't give a fuck.

This was mis-reported and The Contra Costa Times is already printing the corrected version. I looked for the article but couldn't find it right away. Read it today, too.

The restaurant workers should be happy that we don't have a 0% tip here in the states like they do in Europe and Asia.

The restaurant workers should be happy that they have a job
