You can find the download links to the original Samsung Installer and to the "pure" (already extracted) Samsung NVMe driver v1.4.7.16 WHQL >here<.

Just tried to install windows on it, got though the install and deleted my old partitions only to find that my on board Wifi driver and a few other essential drivers lock up the computer when using this drive.

Have managed to undelete my partitions and am back in my old install now.

Maybe a bios update required, what sort of PCIe layout does that Asus board have.

Deders - just curious, but did the SSD come with the driver on CD or did you download it? - only asking as the samsung US website still isn't showing a NVMe driver download

I just about ordered the 950 Pro 512 gig over at Newegg, good deal right now, free game and a $30 gift card, but after reading this I think I'll wait....

up until a few days ago, there was a newegg promo code for 10% off - might still be good, i'm just waiting for the dust to settle and see what folks report

I updated to the latest 1203 bios yesterday, it only became available a few days ago. Am not sure whether this is a factor or whether it is purely an issue with Samsung, or even Microsoft.

I got an error message one of the times it hung saying something along the lines of unfixable error. It was the same error I got when I tried to load the NVMe driver during windows install, which I found out was completely uneccesary.

I only tried it because it wouldn't install on the GPT partition I'd set up to benchmark the drive. Had to delete all partitions to get it to install.

No CD, but there is a driver on the main site:

After all that I used 'Mini Partition Wizard Free' to migrate the OS onto the 950 from my 830 and have had no more issues. I'd only wanted to install fresh to see if I could get it to use UEFI boot, my GPU was stopping this from happening in the past.

Mini Partition Wizard Free has become one of my new essential utilities.

Thanks for all the info glad you got it running, I just want to do a clean install...what did you use the M.2 slot or a adapter card?

Deders - are you running win 7?

and if i'm reading your post correctly, you cloned from your sammy 830 to the 950?

I'm running windows 10, and yes I did.

Deders, any chance you could post a few benchmarks from your system?

I managed to get a screenshot of the Magician benchmark, it was the first thing I did with it so it is completely fresh. I also did a few Sandra benches but after the clone it refuses to load properly so I can't get screenshots at the moment.

I have a lot on so I won't have time for the next couple of days to bench but after that I'll see what I can do.

Direct install.
It was easy, I simply updated my MDT install media to include the NVMe driver that installed in my old install, and backed up with DoubleDriver 🙂

Was up and running again in about an hour. ( I have a bunch of apps that it auto installs)
