Wow, that really sucks. I already have 3 different headsets. And sammy isn't offering the new one as a bonus. It doesn't fit, that's why Samsung introduced a new VR headset for Note 8 -- backward compatible with older phones

They usually don't offer the free VR headset until after the launch window.Wow, that really sucks. I already have 3 different headsets. And sammy isn't offering the new one as a bonus.
In real life the Note4 doesn't hold a candle to the S8's battery life....at least in my experience. The note 4 had a better endurance rating than the s8+, so no, with 5% smaller battery, an extra camera, a pen with a much bigger screen is not going to yield a longer battery life than the note 4. Where do you guys come up with such logic?
So. All I have to do is use my email address I registered the N7 with and I get 425 off and apparently keep the N7 (they'll assume I sent it in long ago)?Just a note for you former Note 7 owners -
If you had your N7 registered to your Samsung account, then if you trade in your current phone you get $425 off (has to be a phone off their trade-in list, see link for more details). Seems to be US- and SK-only, though I might be wrong

Otherwise the same "up to $300 off with eligible trade-in" promo going on for the S8/S8+ also applies here
Any of you former N7 owners not planning to upgrade? Could use a promo for a little something thrown your way...
If you registered the N7 with samsung, then they have the serial # and should know if you've returned it or not, so honestly I don't know.So. All I have to do is use my email address I registered the N7 with and I get 425 off and apparently keep the N7 (they'll assume I sent it in long ago)?
Uh, ridiculous speed? I sold my N4 this spring because it became so laggy. Figured I would sell it while it was still worth something. The MM really slowed it down and battery life seemed to take a hit too. The camera should be much better too if the S8 is any indication. I really like the N4 but just feel the software really did it in. Maybe a factory reset would have helped but the economics of selling at the time made more sense to me.So what advantage (other than water proof) does the note 8 have over the note 4 (one disadvantage is you can't easily change batteries).
Ordered. I entered the email I used with the N7, says I am good, ordered the N8 with a trade-in of an iphone 5s (have tons laying about) and did the sammy financing through TD bank. Total cost is 504. 21 bucks a month for 24 months which i'll pay off faster once I sell my S7 edge and possibly my S8+. Got the 360 camera. If you registered the N7 with samsung, then they have the serial # and should know if you've returned it or not, so honestly I don't know.
It might ask you to return it when your Note8 arrives like a trade in.

You could always get a $50 prepaid iphone 5S and toss it their way... $375 is still better than $300. Or $200.

I'm upgrading from a Note5 and already bought a case for the Note8 that I preordered.I'm considering upgrading from my Note 5, but that display doesn't seem conducive to cases.

Whenever i've got both in hand i can let you know how the difference feels coming from a Note5.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073RWJ9NKI want to make up my mind before preorders are over so I can get the bonus if I decide to go ahead.
What case did you get?
This is the case I get for all my phones.
The idea that there's actually a requirement to toddler wrap a phone and cover the screen with sheets of garbage as the only way to 'guard against damage' is ludicrous.Definitely the edge display makes it very hard to guard against damage. Looks awesome, totally impractical LOL.
