The Samsung 912N 19inch has been looking rather attractive to me since at my CompUSA they have it for $379.99 after rebates. THe problem is that I've never owned an LCD monitor and don't know how bad ghosting really is or how annoying it is; specifically on this monitors 25ms refresh rate. I've read reviews and they all say its fantastic with the 800:1 contrast ratio and it looks amazing.
The other problem is that I'm a gamer; I dont really play UT that much at all, instead I play games like HL:2, Halo, Jedi Academy, W3, a lot of other shooters, and a lot of RTS games.
I've been looking at the Samsung 710N/T for a while now. The 710N doesn't have DVI output and the image quality is less, but the 710T has DVI and the image quality is better; the problem with both of these is that the 710T is streching my price allocation which is around 400. The 710N costs around 369 at Newegg I think, and has very good reviews also.
One last little knack is that I want to impress my friends and neighbors with my monitor; the 912N doesn't have a DVI output or as high response time, but the image quality is 800:1 which is fantastic and while it may not be PERFECTLY ideale for gaming, it looks more impressive with its looming size and picture quality.
I dunno, sorry about the ranting; I'm determined to get the best one for the money I have right now. 😛
