On my next build, I'd like to get four of these and RAID-0 them together as a 3TB boot drive.

My current system has 2 830s in RAID-0, and having 1gB/s read/write is nice. Having enough space to keep all of my dev software AND games at eyeblink speed would be even nicer.

I thought 'real world' performance increase with raid wasn't significant with SSD

I would agree with this. My current system is a pair of 180GB SSDs in RAID0, simply for the capacity. I don't think there's any perceptible performance increase over a single drive.
