Gosh SSDs are sorta not reliable after reading all this.

Why do you say that? It seems that motherboard tweaks are needed here. yes it is possible the OP has a bum SSD, but there are also times when brand new HDDs are DOA as well. Would you put them in the same category?

I have a sandforce ssd and I am getting a 1 second freeze about 2 minutes after bootup. It totally freezes, even the mouse. I suspect the drive but have not cared enough to look into... yet. However I also suspect it may be the logmein service colliding with aero. Since it only happens once I am not prepared to lay blame on the SSD.

I have two other OCZ drives that have rune fine for 2 years.

Have you updated to the latest FW?
Is it attached to a x67/68 chipset? Latest FW?
Is C3/C6 reporting disabled in BIOS?
Is Hotswap enabled for the SSD in BIOS?

Hey for those with the Samsung 830 how do you have it set up? Obviously ahci but are you using Intel rst driver or Microsofts drivers? (no one with the 830 had to do the lpm fix nor had to enable hot swap?)
I have an 830 and I am using the latest RST driver. I have not had to do any LPM or any other "hack" to enure total stability. It worked out the box.

I am using an Asus Z68 board and my UEFI defaults were hot swapping disabled for all ports. I have not changed this.
