Jackson's response was a bit dramatic, but that's a THESBIAN for you. I think it was more a hissy fit that he was referred to as having been in Fishburnes commercial, which was much better than Jackson's loan-sharking Capital One commercials. The dude was white but for whatever reason he got the roles wrong, it wasn't because he couldn't tell the difference between a tall skinny bug eyed old black guy and a short fat crossed eyed old black guy.

But he was SITTING DOWN. So his height had NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.

The guy basically was right and Sam convinced him he was wrong. The guys started off by saying something about Marvel and then said he saw Jackson in a superbowl commercial. The was a Marvel commercial with Jackson during the superbowl. The worse part is he apologized for it.

I can't rewatch the video at work but doesn't he specifically say parts of the Matrix/Kia commercial too?

sam needs to promote robocop. because of this stunt, the movie will flop.

Are you kidding? That little rant that Samuel Jackson just pulled off there turned a silly little local market Robocop promo into a trending topic on Twitter and Facebook. It probably got tens of millions of views, many from people who didn't even know that Robocop was coming out soon.

The guy is a marketing genius!

I detect high levels of sarcasm from the previous quadrant.

He is really working overtime for his pay this time.

I just watched it again. All he had to do was clarify and say the Captain America commercial but since he knew he was wrong at that moment with Sam asked he froze up.

Yup, It "white guilt apologizing" when someone can't do their damn job properly 🙄

C'mon man. Go ahead and stop now with the goading and let's be real here. I saw the clip and it came across to me as a race issue when SLJ make the quip about "how we all look alike". I know what he meant by that, he knows what he meant, even if in the best of cases it was just some playful ribbing. And then the reporter got flustered on the spot and made it worse. Sure he should know what he's talking about if he's going to be in that position but when he was apologizing it wasn't for the accidental mix up of the two actors. He was apologizing to the black community because he was so scared of coming off as a racist.

What the guy did was ignorant for sure, made himself look stupid, but innocent enough. Certainly not racist in any way and maybe SLJ was just seizing on a moment and poking a little fun but the man knew where he was taking that conversation. And the reporter's apology afterward talking about how sincerely bad he feels for "anyone he may have offended". We've all heard that same line from a million other "whities" who said something as dastardly as "you people" in complete innocence but got hooked up for it all the same. It's ridiculous... I wouldn't have made that same apology the way he did and with the undertone it carried. Other than being an idiot at his job the guy did nothing "that" wrong. Shit happens.

THESBIAN? Is that like a religious gay woman?

It seemed to me that Sam Jackson was having a bit of fun with the flub. It also appears that he watches a lot of tv. His knowledge of actors and their respective commercials was exemplary.
