Sally Boynton Brown really doesn't like other white people.

SALLY BOYNTON BROWN: I’m a white woman, I don’t get it...

My job is to listen and be a voice and shut other white people down when they want to interrupt...

We pull people in and they are volunteers. They don’t know anything and then we send them out to have conversations with people, hard conversations. We promote them to chair of a party where they have power and they have no clue what they are doing. We have to, at the DNC, provide training. We have to teach them how to communicate, how to be sensitive and how to shut their mouths if they are white. So I think I made my point.

This is, uh, pretty straightforwardly racist material. And coming from a candidate for DNC chair.

Any defense for this?

It amuses me that it never occurs to her to shut up for the same reason she says other whites should shut up. People like her are always exempt from their own accusation even though they meet the criteria for it.

We should be careful with arguments like that. The left thought that of Trump.

But that is because Republicans are in double-digit IQs. Clearly the Dems wouldn't pick her because they are in triple digits, all of them. I bet there are some liberals with 4 digit IQs because they are so teh smrt.

Hillary played isolationist politics or "divide the people and conquer", the opposite of her husband who was far more inclusive. Her strategy failed and apparently Brown decided that what the Dems need is to do the wrong things harder.

So who might come up after Trump? Brown is already stumping for him or her.

Not unless you want Trump again.
Democrats can keep going down the road of identity politics...or they can choose to moderate in order to broaden party appeal. They're now making choices that will profoundly affect the future viability of their party imo. And we need people like Sally Brown to show voters exactly what Democrats want to bring to the table.

But not in a position of power. Consider that the Dems had a candidate something like her who couldn't beat the most unpopular person to have run then consider someone like Brown? They may double down.

But whatever. We haven't any control over the process and any illusions should have been done away with. That belongs to the Browns of the world.

Holy crap, what a racist piece of shit. Is that really the kind of person the democrats want to have as the face of the organization? Think about it, if someone had said the same thing about any other group in society, they would have been hung out to dry, fired from their job and so forth.

Disgusting.

haha. I know I sound like a jackass, but they said the same thing about us in 2008 and '12. "Moderate or face electoral disaster."

If you ignore the retards getting worked up over snippets of the speech and actually listen to the whole speech and the context it become very clear what the message is.

She is saying that it must be accepted that there are prejudices that exists in the democratic party.
She is saying that her job is to make sure that the people she is charged with do not make assumptions
Listen to the community you serve and don't make assumptions. Don't interrupt when someone is trying to convey some sort of message to you and say "I understand because reasons"
Shut up and listen

This is public service 101

Her job is to shut white people to up until they accept whatever she says. Once they pass her litmus then maybe, just maybe they can speak but they must say the "right" things. She has no interest in bridging any divide, she's working to increase it.

Without the slightest awareness of the irony. She's prejudging white people (except for herself).

Without the slightest awareness of the irony. She's making sweeping assumptions about all white people (except for herself).

Unless you're a member of her preferred race. That is racism 101.

DNC Chair Candidates Bash White People in Racially-Charged Forum
Not just her, was pretty much the theme brought on by the group as a whole...
  • “You cannot come to the DNC and get a contract and the only minority face you have is the person answering the phone.”
  • "The DNC did a piss poor, pathetic job" attracting minorities
  • Teaching Americans “how to be sensitive and how to shut their mouths if they are white,”
  • My job is to listen and be a voice and shut other white people down when they want to interrupt.”
  • Black Americans are now living with “justified fear” of being killed after Donald Trump was elected president.
  • Asked whether they would agree to work with President Trump, the candidates agreed they would never do so.
I'm finding myself with Progressives on many things, but this racist extremism cannot be a feature of anything I'm a part of.
Hateful and divisive language is a fast track to exclusion and marginalization. I will oppose the DNC if they carry such tones forward.
You never heard this crap from Sanders. Maybe that's why he appealed to me so much. Simply being a good person is a rare commodity.

^ This is how you win elections with less votes, Southern Rust Belt Strategy in action. New name, same old athleticism at hopping on that cross.

White victim thread posted by usual suspects is white victim thread.

I mean seriously OP, are you upset that she said you should shut up? Did that frustration with being told to shut up prompt you to post this thread, in search of sympathy?

LOL

Funny how much american conservatives cry about them sjw's when they're always the biggest support group of safe space bitches triggered by any perceived slight.

I think in context it's obvious that she doesn't simply hate white people or want them/us to all shut up, but when the Dem party panders to muh feels as a strategy to win votes, they shouldn't be surprised when it gets thrown back in their face. Honestly, I think what she said is more indicative of deep-rooted prejudice against minorities than whites. It's the idea that if you're not white, you must be coddled and protected from certain opinions, because you might get offended and then fail to turn out when it's election time (and so much for that, as demonstrated by this election).

Given that it's literally her job to win elections, it hardly seems unreasonable to go for the low hanging fruit. Personally I don't blame Trump for targeting race resentment either.
