I think the 'ref= ...' at the end is just from searching on Amazon. Link works without it though, Link . Newegg, while not always a price leader, but a good reference, wants $61.40 for this. So if you are looking for this keyboard, this is a pretty good price at Amazon.

Really nice feel. Different back lighting options. Laser etched keys (they wont wear out). Really solid build and heavy keyboard will last a long time.

I own this keyboard--It was the first keyboard upgrade I had in about 6 years.

The best keyboard I have ever used, I love it.

I've had one for a few months now from the woot.com deal ($35 shipped). Great keyboard, I got it mainly for the backlit keys but it's a nice all-around keyboard.

Where does it get its power from to light the keys? Does it need a power adapter?

Powered through USB.

OK.

Can this be connected through a PS2 connector if you use a USB to PS2 adapter?

I have to agree. I have the version previous to this one and typing on this keyboard is a breeze. It's easy by far the best keyboard I've typed on. The backlight also works well when trying to do some work with the lights off.

This is a good keyboard, but is in no way perfect or near perfect. The following will explain why.

Pros:
-Looks great
-3 colors to choose from
-Keys feel very nice while typing

Cons:
-That knob is not a volume control knob. WTF!?! So let's think, what the hell does it do? I'll tell you what it does, it controls how bright your keyboard will display the lights. Who the hell needs a knob to control how bright you want your lights? You're either gonna want it bright enough to see your keys at night, or off. That's it.
-Instead of the volume control being the knob, Saitek decided to give you control through two buttons that are out of reach, too small and too close to the mute and color select buttons. What a pain in the rear!
-See that rubber under your keyboard? Tell me what that's for... because it sure as hell ain't touching your desk or any other flat area you place the keyboard on. That's like the wheels on your car not touching the road and you having to drive with the underside of your car (yeah, it's not that bad, but come on Saitek, see if your damn keyboard functions actually work).
-So you have 3 colors to choose from. Red, Purple and Blue. I love how no matter what color you pick for the backlights, the Numlock, Shift and Scroll lock lights will stay blue.
-Why the hell is the new and improved version two of the Saitek keyboard have dimmer lights than the previous version? I thought that stupid dimmer knob was suppose to make this thing bright...

Not a bad keyboard, I've had worse (Logitech g15). But fix those problems and you have a great keyboard. If you can't fix all of those problems, PLEASE change the knob to a volume knob!

Good call on the knob. But I dont agree about the rubbers on the bottom. They do touch the desk and they prevent the keyboard from sliding. Works great actually. Also dont agree with backlighting issue you discribed. Maybe you got defective product. Colors change perfectly and its just as bright as the other one(I had them sitting side by side on my desk to compare).
