Saints Row 4 has rekindled my childlike fascination with video games

After I gushed about 3 and said I was interested in 4 a friend he bought a couple of copies when it was on sale. We played it for a few minutes co-op but didn't continue as I wasn't that into it and he had a bunch of other games he wanted to play. We also actually had issues playing co-op for some reason it kept hanging up or something at different points, I think it was just internet problem around that time though not the game (seem to recall one of us was having issues around that time). I definitely still enjoy it but not as much as 3 (partly because I got tired of all scripted parts at the start, took forever to get to the normal game part). Sounds like the DLC is pretty meh so far. I'm hoping their focus is getting the mod tools out as that'll be the biggest boon for it. If nothing else then hopefully someone will make it so you can input your own music (like the music in this game a lot less which is another reason I don't like it as much as 3).

In a rush I made a character that resembles Baron Samedi (who I always used to play as in Goldeneye) wearing the bright orange tuxedo from Dumb & Dumber.

hows the replay value? I was going to play through on my own but I also wanted to play it later with my bro in co-op. Also, can you do everything in co-op that you can solo..ie all the activities like fraud etc?

I've never been able to get into saints row, having 3 and 4 (regrettably), but after reading what you have to say about it OP, I'll give it another shot this weekend...

I enjoyed 3, and played it over quite a long period of time. I don't game on any sort of regular basis, and I liked that I could easily put it down for a few weeks and jump back in with no problem.

One thing I'm a little concerned about with 4 is that it's going to be too dark. I'm not a huge fan of batman-esque "everything is always dark" environments. But other than that, I'm about 1 hour in and happy thus far.

Played a bit of 4. It's pretty fun, but definitely gets old pretty fast for my self. The dialogue is good and makes it easier. Probably like 1/3 the way through at the moment. Keith David is in this shit!

These games are meant to be played with other people. It's great when you're gunning it out with a pack of aliens and your buddy comes streaking down from the sky creating a nuclear blast. Or you super jump into the air and jump into the spaceship he's flying by in.

Just bought and installed this game. Before I start, what would you guys recommend between Keyboard + Mouse or Controller? The only time I've ever used my controller was with the Batman Arkham series, and it worked ok for that. Generally, I pefer KB/M though.

I preferred the controller but kb/m is fine. Did you use kb/m for GTA games?

I love it way better than any GTA game. Fun times.
I just finished another game of SR3 (on hard) and am ready for F4 now. Had to get it out of my system.
