Um...450mhz PPC vs. dual-core 1.6ghz + 1080p-capable 9400m...sounds like a boost to me

Yeah, but a Hackintosh is not a Cube. Or are you planning on stuffing the innards of a Hackintosh into a Cube or something?

Yes, similar to this:

Luckily the ION is much smaller than a Mini-ITX board, so I'll have more room for a PicoPSU and wiringI LOVE my Cube, but it's pretty much useless for anything other than a file server now...it can't even handle iTunes videos
If the ION can be Hackintoshed, then it will make a wonderful upgrade to the existing components!

Well a lot of people think the ION will be the basis for the new mini, so it should be very easily hackintoshed.

I'm up in the air about that...I have a hard time seeing Apple downgrading from a mobile C2D CPU to an Atom CPU. My guess is that they'll go the same route as the Macbook - an Intel CPU & 9400m. That is, if they ever release a Mac Mini update![]()

Well the thing is if they had a mini with a C2D and 9400m, that'd probably eat up a lot of iMac sales. The iMac is great in the midrange, mac pro at the top, and the mac mini is supposed to be entry-level and highly portable. ION does that best.
There are reports that ION will support C2D chips also. Cross your fingers Kaido.Originally posted by: Kaido

isn't that for Mac only? I d/l'ed it and upon opening the zip I didn't see how I could run it on a PC. I could Google I guess, but I just assumed it was Cocoa and Mac only.
I didn't. Flash is still quite slow on my G4s. Maybe I'll try running a Flash benchmark when I get some time though.Originally posted by: TheStu

There should be no change in speed with Flash Player in Safari 4. Perhaps you upgraded to Flash 10 at a similar time?

I've just found a strange Safari 4 bug. Randomly my Safari 4 will set itself to auto-reject all cookies. I have to go in and switch it from 'Never accept cookies' to 'Always accept cookies'. It keeps randomly reverting to Never.

I've been using Safari since the day it launched (PC version) I really like it, but one thing that annoys me. I can't seem to figure out if you can have it open links you click in a tab not a new window. In the preferences I see the CTRL+click for links in a new tab but I don't think I can train myself to press CTRL every time I click on a link. Is there a work around for this? I end up with 10 windows up all the time it seems, kind of annoying.

I have middle click set to open links in a new background tab in the same window...
