Anybody notice that some of the Red flags that were being waved by the Iraqi's celebrating the capture of Saddam had the Sickle and Hammer on them? Not that it really has any significance, I was just taken aback by it. Maybe it shows how much things have changed in Iraq where an obviously Atheistic group feels safe enough to publicly demonstrate/celebrate in a Theoretical society.

I only wish this day would have come during the first couple days of the invasion when casualties were low and the ends, IMHO, would have justified the means. However, I just see it as a total waste that so many of our troups had to die and continue to die for this 'cause'. I hope he spills the beans but find it unlikely that he will ever tell us the locations of any WMD's if'n there are any.

Didn't you see the report from General Macafferty in Moscow? He showed how the Russians have been pissed off since day one of the U.S. invading Iraq and now really pissed that Saddam has been captured.

Well I have been a very vocal critic of this invasion and occupation since many of the reasons for it hasn't been borne out. However, if Saddam reveals that our invasion was just then I would be more than happy to say I was wrong.

Why is it that supporters only started caring about human rights (and only in iraq) after Bush started his case for war? Why did I never see anyone ever say thing about human rights in Iraq before Bush stated he wanted to attack the country? reddawn feels bad about being led to believe this war was about WMD (which the US and britisch gouvernment where shouting) and yesthe cause might have been good, but the justification (for the moment) is not. the US helped more dictators to get their power than they removed. so I dont really think the general public would have been so pro-war without the claims of WMD.

after all, freeing a country is a very tricky buisness, it'll take years before iraq even resembles a country instead of a battlefield.

construction of such a big thing, costs lots of men, money, and willpower. maybe with saddam caught the anti-US movement will drop a little bit in iraq, but I doubt he even had a lot of influence in the counter attacks of the iraqi's against US military. I might get proven wrong tho, but it's hard to try and hide, while still pulling the strings.
