You have not given me one good reason as to why LA has more culture than Sacto so it kind of makes it hard for me to argue with your claim. And I don't know if i'll buy a cowbell for next years playoffs. I mean I could. It's expensive to get into the games though.

Well, I'll let you go back and read why LA has more culture. I explained it to you and that's why everybody else outside of Sacramento sees it the same way. As for next years playoffs, don't spend the money, you'll only be disappointed when the Lakers beat your mighty Kings.

Don't make this into a Kings vs. Lakers thread.

I read through and you said that LA has better clubs so Sacramento is lacking in culture. So then is that your argument? because of clubs?
And i'm not worrying about the lakers next year. Shaq will have a heart attack and die most likely before the all-star break...if not, he will then shortly after

Well it doesn't look like Pixel is going to reply. But it's getting late and I have to milk the cows before I go to bed so I should be off. But it's been fun

South of sacramento...but I am always there.

I like SAC but since I'm Hmong, its really lonely.

Who are the HMONG?
why do you say lonely? if its because there aren't many hmong's, i think i've seen a pretty good sized population of hmong folks around Sac, especially the south area. You're not alone there buddy.

I've lived in Sacramento for 21 years, just graduated from UC Davis, have lived in Davis, Sacramento, and Emeryville, and I'm pretty satisfied with the region. I travel to LA once every other month for conferences and it's ok, but I'd rather not spend an hour to two in traffic to get anywhere.

I guess it depends on the life style you wish to live, but being in a smaller town atleast give's you the ability to live in a quiet and slow environment and go to the "big" city for entertainment, if you wish while the big city folks drive out of the city, spending hours on the road, to "get away from it all". Every Friday, highway 50 and 80 are congested from the big city folks driving up to the Tahoe area and on Sundays, they congest the same highways coming back.

But, in the end, I'm happy to be living in California because if you ever go to another state, you'll realize there's no comparing. I'd rather live in liberal California than any other state in the union. I could go on, but I'll stop now :)

I think compuwiz lives there. Tons of Russians moving there too. I go there frequently to see my Mom. Wonderfully cheep to live there compared to the SF Bay Area. Was looking at a 4 Bdroom 2 bath fixer for 118 thousand last week. Free water, cheap utilities, etc. Hot some days but it's just like Mark Twain said right now outside where I am. The tomatoes you can grow there are awesome. Anyway, pay no attention to the nay sayers. There's no place like home and home is where you are. It's all about attitude.

I kinda skimmed through this thread as there seems to be a lot of...crap in it. Anyways I am from Reno and I'll be a student at UCD in mid september and I simply can't wait. Had summer advising a few weeks ago and that was simply a blast. I don't know a lot about the whole area but just form the campus alone it seems there are tons of things to do. I am from reno here and its generally a 21+ town so all the teens are rather limited on what to do so I think Davis will be a great things. Tons of people, various sports and activities. Personally I dont think I will have enough time to do everything I want.,
