Sacramento AT'ers?

So, out of all of you that live up there, who would like to meet for lunch or something some day? I'd like to meet yous guys. I know HotChic is up there too and we wanted to meet before.

Oh, I know I'll miss this area. I've lived here for about 16 years. I'm like 1.5 miles from the beach.

excuse me but yosemite is not the same distance from sacto as from LA. Not even close. I can get their in like an hour from my house. It takes me 6 hours to drive to LA. And sure, you have the beach, but there are also beaches in nor cal. Remember, the ocean does border the entire coastline of california. Although it is pretty much too cold to go swimming in nor cal, I would have to say the views are much better. I mean there are nice rock cliffs with gorgeous views over the oceans. And you are not going to tell me that there are better forests in so cal than in nor cal. I mean so cal is a frikkin dessert (or desert?)...it's just that hollywood pays to make it look all fake and stuff

Since I don't know where you live, I said from Sacramento. and it only takes me a little over four hours to get to Yosemite. Los Angeles might be considered a desert, but if it is, it's quite an oasis. And since we have been talking about Sacramento, then you can't say much about the beaches since there are none. If you referring to Mendocino, San Francisco, or Monterey, then I agree that there are some really nice views, but it would be nice to go into the water too. You want forests, we have them, but if you're referring to the redwoods up there, then they're not in Sacramento.

If you think this a NoCal vs SoCal arguement, it's not. My beef is with the Sacramento area. I've lived there and I hated it. I lived in the Bay Area and I loved it. So it's not Northern Cali that I have a problem with.

You know what they say about Hollywood...What do you get if you remove the tinsel? More tinsel. Anyhoo, I know that this isn't a debate about nor cal vs so cal, I'm just saying that there are nice things to do up here. So what exactly is there to do in LA that you can't do in Sactown? If anything, there is a little more nightlife but you can do the same things in cities all across America. Just because it doesn't have as many high-rises doesn't mean it's boring. And yes, there are redwoods right around Sacramento. What did you do when you lived here? Did you even get out?

I'm not too sure about your Hollywood comment, but I'll leave that alone since it appears that you probably haven't even been down here and don't know what you are talking about.

Yes, I did go out and if you have been to any of the clubs in LA or San Francisco, they are in a totally different league than Sacramento. So nightlife doesn't compare. The majority of the people in Sacto tend to have less culture than the people of LA or the city. It's not about the high rises, it's about atmosphere and Sacto doesn't cut it.

Plus, if there's any reason to not like Sacto, having the Kings over there should be reason enough... (anybody feel a Kings-Laker debate coming on...)

Well i've been to Hollywood plenty of times. Not too exciting. Mainly the only reason I go to LA is either for Disneyland or when I pass through on my way to San Diego. But yes, I already said LA has more nightlife, but that doesn't mean Sacto doesn't have any. And how does Sacto have less culture? I just really don't understand that when people say that. Please enlighten me.

I travel between the Bay Area and Folsom (20 miles east of Sac) for business. I have an apartment in Folsom, and after having lived in San Francisco my whole life, the pace of life in the Sac area is pretty monotonous for me.

But to each his own... some people love it in Folsom and can't imagine living in the Bay Area or *gasp* LA where the Lakers are!

Anyways, I like in a small town called Volcano which is by Jackson, so from your place I just take latrobe road to 16 to 49...if you have any idea what i'm talking about

First of all, coming down to Hollywood and going to Disneyland just proves you know nothing about LA. I never consider Hollywood when I want to go out. I'd much rather go to Century City, Santa Monica, Pasadena, Manhatten Beach, Malibu,... the list goes on. Also, I don't consider line dancing, going to the rodeo, or going to the State Fair as nightlife, so enough of "Sacto has a nightlife".

If you've already heard that Sacto doesn't have any culture from others, then you should start to believe it. Enlighten you... well, it's called theater, concerts (both classical and pop culture), and museums. Yes, sacramento has these but people there don't like to go. Why? Ask yourself. But that's why people say that there is no culture there.

Yes, cause that's what I do here in sac, is go line dancing and to the rodeo. You're just simply stating the stereotypical description that every ignorant person uses. And that's a good reason for me to believe that sacto has no culture...because i've heard it before. Strong evidence. I'll just add that i've seen many a good concert up here in Blackramento.

Since I don't know where you live, I said from Sacramento. and it only takes me a little over four hours to get to Yosemite. Los Angeles might be considered a desert, but if it is, it's quite an oasis. And since we have been talking about Sacramento, then you can't say much about the beaches since there are none. If you referring to Mendocino, San Francisco, or Monterey, then I agree that there are some really nice views, but it would be nice to go into the water too. You want forests, we have them, but if you're referring to the redwoods up there, then they're not in Sacramento.

If you think this a NoCal vs SoCal arguement, it's not. My beef is with the Sacramento area. I've lived there and I hated it. I lived in the Bay Area and I loved it. So it's not Northern Cali that I have a problem with.

Oh ya, I didn't know Hollywood paid to make everything around me look "fake". I guess everything's a facade around here.

You know what they say about Hollywood...What do you get if you remove the tinsel? More tinsel. Anyhoo, I know that this isn't a debate about nor cal vs so cal, I'm just saying that there are nice things to do up here. So what exactly is there to do in LA that you can't do in Sactown? If anything, there is a little more nightlife but you can do the same things in cities all across America. Just because it doesn't have as many high-rises doesn't mean it's boring. And yes, there are redwoods right around Sacramento. What did you do when you lived here? Did you even get out?

I'm not too sure about your Hollywood comment, but I'll leave that alone since it appears that you probably haven't even been down here and don't know what you are talking about.

The majority of the people in Sacto tend to have less culture than the people of LA or the city. It's not about the high rises, it's about atmosphere and Sacto doesn't cut it.

Plus, if there's any reason to not like Sacto, having the Kings over there should be reason enough... (anybody feel a Kings-Laker debate coming on...)

Well i've been to Hollywood plenty of times. Not too exciting. Mainly the only reason I go to LA is either for Disneyland or when I pass through on my way to San Diego. excuse me but yosemite is not the same distance from sacto as from LA. Not even close. I can get their in like an hour from my house. It takes me 6 hours to drive to LA. And sure, you have the beach, but there are also beaches in nor cal. Remember, the ocean does border the entire coastline of california. Although it is pretty much too cold to go swimming in nor cal, I would have to say the views are much better. I mean there are nice rock cliffs with gorgeous views over the oceans. And you are not going to tell me that there are better forests in so cal than in nor cal. I mean so cal is a frikkin dessert (or desert?)...it's just that hollywood pays to make it look all fake and stuff

Hmmm...i don't reckon I said anything of the sort. Here's main overview: LA has more nightlife...Sacto has more nature. Whatever floats your boat is good enough. And when did I ask to explain culture? Um...so there's a lot of mexicans and asians in LA? hmm...i'm a little confused. And actually I didn't have a cowbell
