I read the report back in the day, and IIRC there was something wrong with the fly-by-wire system. The pilot thought it was off, and was landing manually. But the fly-by-wire stepped in as he was approaching,and tried to get more altitude... pilot made a counter move (split second reaction time/ didn't know what was happening)... and the result we can see in the video.
So, not entirely pilots fault.
