Following on my thread about being locked out of my new S7, I had another problem; no app. icons in Google Play, and only downloading via 4G.
So after doing research, I found my exact problem; the phone has IPv6 features that apparently only Google Play utilizes, and will work if your ISP uses IPv6 and it's enabled on the router.
Unfortunately mine doesn't, and to get around this I had to install an app. called "DNSet" which resets the phones DNS lookup to the public Google DNS severs sans ROOT. This worked perfectly. The other option is to setup a VPN.
I'm a (usually) happy Android user, but shame on you Google for putting up roadblocks to simple setup procedures. The process should have taken a few minutes, instead of the two days it took me (including the silly lockout) and having to research all this. Google no bueno.
