My first impression of STALKER was that it's good, but I kept finding things that could have been better. The new patch fixed a lot of the bugs that really pissed me off, such as the AI totally screwing up quests and quests getting showing up on the wrong place on the map, etc. I decided to start a new game, but this time around I'm going to see what mods are out there that might make the game better.
I started out with the float32 mod, which does make it look nicer, except for the fact that indoors it is usually way too dark.
After reading the article on STALKER on tweakguides.com, I found some other cool things to improve the graphics that I had no idea about, such as motion blur and some way to emulate AA (that feature doesn't work in the game menus).
for motion blur, you need to put -mblur at the end of the shortcut to the game. You can also add -nointro so you skip the animated logos when you start up the game. To use motion blur in the game, just type r2_mblur (0-1), where 0 is none and 1 is a lot. I have around .3 for now.
There are a lot of other mods out there, so I'm wondering what other people have done to make the game a little bit better. Is there any way to use float32 without it making the night soo dark? Any other console tweaks that are cool?
I just thought I start a thread about it so that people can share their knowledge, since I know that, a lot like Oblivion, this game takes some mods and tweaking for it to be good...
