well, STALKER is only $30 at circuit city this week, 40sTheme ... you can almost buy both

however, i am realizing that it can be pretty *short*
:Q

about 10-15 hours for the MQ ...

there are 7 "endings" and only 2 are "true" ... so it can be a lot longer

C&C should be a much longer game, i guess ;)

hmm ....
easy choice for me since i am FPSer first :)

and i just have to work more to play - so i am always tired :p
--Life isn't fair

... good luck with the driving test!

no reason the door shouldn't open, GSte... or be unable to talk to the trader ... try repositioning yourself and press F again ... i sometimes have to be in an 'exact' position to access something

question about changing ammo.

i can use the Y key to change ammo types but when i reload, it goes back to the old previous ammo. is there a way to specify which ammo to use as default?

man, the forum on the company's website sucks. so slow and doesn't even work half the time.

Spoiler alert - tip needed. I actually need a tip in the lab. I got the second code in the back of a room with a new monstrosity. But I don't know what to do with it. I can't find the next area in the "middle of the lab" with no maps... And I'm sick of getting boxes and barrels thrown at me :D Anyone remember where to?

Look for a closed door on the left of the first room you entered from the stairs. there is a keypad on the left of the door.

I doubt C&C will be longer. Though their multi-player should be interesting.

I opened up the .big file and saw the normal 6-7 missions. Nothing compared to the originals from westwood.

In the demo? If so, I'm pretty sure that's just a placeholder in there. In a recent preview on IGN, it said there were 5 acts in both the GDI and Nod campaigns and each act covers multiple missions. That means anywhere from 20-40 missions are possible (as many as any other C&C I remember) and there are 4 Scrin bonus levels after you beat the game. I wouldn't take the info in that .big file as the hard facts; there are going to be more missions than that. :) (There better be, at least, just ordered it 20 minutes ago!)

Link to IGN preview

Okay, got home looking to make some progress in the game... Just left that main town with the bar and headed North for some quests. The game has crashed NINE times during this span (an hour or so), be it in-game or when I press escape (or, annoyingly enough, try to save a game). I had had maybe one or two crashes prior. WTF is going on?

I think I'm putting this game down unless this bs stops...

Well, well... That is what you get for leaving TDU unplayed... :D J/K

Yeah, I was tempted to buy this one too, but the fastest way to ruin a current game is to buy another one and forget all about it...

Man, I still play that daily :) Spring Break ftw...

I've pretty much gotten all the cars I want, though, so all I do at this point is cruise around. I've beaten all of the single player race/time/speed challenges, done all the vehicle escorts... don't have the patience for the model/hitchhiker missions or to find all the roads. I've driven a good 3500 miles at this point. Point being, I'm not putting that game down anytime soon...

I just would like to get through this - not to mention Shivering Isles - some point soon so I can get back to WoW for a little while :x.

playing on Vista or XP?

it won't be long ... i'll get there ... the SQs aren't as interesting as the MQ, anyway.

did you get all 7 endings ... or enough to know better?

I spent alot of time getting money as well. That was before I realized how poorly thought out this game was. All you money you get you really cant even spend anyways. Just FYI.

In terms of the endings, Id rather not say what my ending was to spoil it for others. I did not know there was 7 endings, but im definitely not going to go back through this poorly executed game to see a different one. The ending I did get though was fairly stupid.

Vista. I've heard of the problems with this O/S and game, but it's wierd that they suddenly pop up now, when I had a few (but not nine in an hour) before.

Other games are still as stable as ever, so it's not a hardware thing...

i'm starting to get tired of the battles where you have to help people. the people you have to help are always outmanned by at least 2 to 1 if not more. and they die 5 seconds after the battle starts.

*****SPOILER******

i left the bar and found some DUTY guys. I follow them and the leader wants me to help kill a sniper at the Freedom group's base. he says if i help i can take all the supplies i want from the base. I accept and go over and inside the base and talk to the dudes. i have the option to continue the DUTY mission or tell the guys at the Freedom base that DUTY is planning to attack them. I continue with my mission and kill the sniper. the DUTY squad, all 6 or 7 of them attack a fortified base with at least 20 freedom troops in it. they all die within 2 minutes of blowing the wall. at 1st i was just running around watching then decided i wanted some action and started to attack them. found some nice guns but i died. i doubt i could take them all on myself. so much for the supplies.

so what do i do? what did you guys do? is aligning yourself with DUTY or the freedom group the best? i know i can do whatever i want but, you know...lol

will i have problems when i go back to the Bar area if i join the freedom guys?

That part was somewhat hard. I played it on MASTER as well so... Thats pretty much the first place you get to in the game where you get good weapons. Im not sure how they all died after entering. My guys stayed alive forever. Did you not kill all the snipers? Doesnt it ask you to kill 1 sniper, then you gotta kill the rest right?

Anyways my guys all died but not till near the end. Not sure why your guys died so fast. I was aligned with DUTY. That place was somewhat challenging though.

That's where I'm at as well, I'm aligning myself with the Duty people.

At least I would if it didn't crash a minute in...
