Possible SPOILERS, not really sure...

Ok, I'm at this Lab X16 place.
I deactivated the stupid phsy generator or w/e it's called and got the documents off of Ghost.

Now, I'm trying to get out and I'm back sort of were I came in but I'm stuck. I can't just on the ladder, and it says to get out via some secret tunnel. Just not sure where to go.

Help, please?? :p
Thanks

I have noticed disappearing enemies. I cornered a bandit and chased him into a room that I knew was a dead end. When I got him in, I decided to rush in around the corner. As soon as I did that, I looked around and he was completely gone, no trace of him. I'm thinking WTF happened as I walk back out of the room and bam there he is suddenly right in front of me.

This game has some of the hardest "regular" enemies I've faced yet. I can blast a guy 4 times with a sawed off shotgun and it's tatamount to someone falling off their bike. This is on veteran difficulty anyways. Not that I don't like a challenge or anything, just saying :D

It's so hard to decide......
Is STALKER really, really awesome enough to merit me buying it over the sweet gameplay of C&C?
I'm going to have to compile every different viewpoint on the game before I decide. :)
I'm off to Google, I guess!

I think for the most part the A life is excellent. I had to start over at the boric part where he was supposed give a 2nd key ,over his dead body. He never showed up ,I then started over and have just finished the lab , what a trip that was. Excellent game for me ...

Didn't think you get to the end so fast, heck you just did the Lab stuff!
YGPM of course :)

in the sewer? i think i just ran into the same thing. it like pulls you forward then back repeatedly and fvcks up your vision? didn't seem like i could kill it either. i ran away and climbed up a ladder to the outside buyt then got killed by 2 military guys because my vision was still messed up.
back from the zone

even easier than the last way [which i just saw]

btw *****************Spoiler******************

just run as fast as you can past him and hide around the corner next to the FIRST ladder out of his 'spell' ... shoot at it and get pulled ... you are pushed back to the *same* spot - duck again and shoot - get pulled back and forth thrice - you won't get confused yet - and *wait* ...

It then comes looking for you since you stopped shooting ... and turns around ... Now, when his back is turned unload a clip into the back of his head

piece of cake
i couldn't get the timing on the grenade, though i did try ... my way worked twice. just glance around the corner and his pull won't confuse you

:D

i really like this game ... i am even getting quick with the inventory ... the only thing i don't like is that i'd like to pause it while looking thru my inventory
[like NWN2] :p

i also realized that 'kill the Stalker' was 'timed' ... it ran out and i will never complete it :(

i've had several kill the stalker quests unless you mean the strelok one?

some of the side quests are pretty hard to figure out.
like one is kill the rookie stalker. when i click that quest to show me where he is, it shows Cordon (the starting area)! who do i kill???
sometimes just figuring out where to go or who/what to kill for a quest really sucks.

i don't understand why they have the time limits on the quests. its so annoying, especially when the quest objective is on the other side of the map!

do you get any suits that protect you from the anomalies and radiation? there's a few places that look like you can go further but can't because you get killed.

also, do you guys use the artifacts? i haven't been using any because i don't see the benefit to any of them. the disadvantages outweight the advantages by a lot on most of them. I also don't quite understand how some of them work, either. they need more detail or explanation.

i don't think the one that gives you +200 or +200% health works because i still seem to die quickly even when using it. i've even used 3 of them at a time and no effect it seems.

I just did a "test" to see if the +200% and +400% health works. My "test" was using a bad guy with a really power gun. What I had on me was 2 +400% and 2 +200% artifacts. He finally hits me after standing in the open for a while ; sure when I don't want him to hit me, he does, when I do, he doesn't.

Well, he had 1 shot that took my health down to 10% 'ish. I dropped the artifacts from my belt onto the ground. Waiting for the guy to finally hit me and was about 25%. If the gun hit my chest with the artifacts with those increases and got me 10%, a foot hit I would think destroy me without the artifacts.

Probably best not to even equip them, for all we know the negatives work. :)

take the hit on your CC and buy them both

don't *agonize* ;)

STALKER really surprised me ... it is definitely FPS ... not RPG at all ... you have no classes you don't specialize or "Level up"

BUT it is very different ... a FPS with *depth* ... and a challenge lurking around every corner ... *save often*

-and i just took on 4-5 quests that all have to be finished in "1 day"
:Q

i might reload

i have to think about that ... time to put it away for tonight

still no bugs ... a couple of stutters .... and i noticed my CPU temps were way up there ... [room is too warm] ... that's about all

yeah ... occasionally a disappearing body before i can loot it :p

it has my very hearty thumbs up ... so far

i simply put FEAR's Expansion Point away ... B-O-R-I-N-G in comparison
... wait ... there's *no* comparison

i meant the 'kill the stalker' SQs [yeah, i found 3 so far including 'master' i guess you get their weapon] ... it took me forever to figure out the map ... once i did, it's pretty easy to get anywhere fast ... and i guess the SQs really don't get you much except pieces to a puzzle and more money ...

good thing i have lots of money ... i paid for info i already had ... though some seemed useful ... that's why i might reload before the bar ... my weapons are totally adequate for the job and i rarely feel underpowered ... sometimes under bandaged ... but that's 'it' ... taking out an enemy crew or just running past them is often a choice

i only use the artifacts for very specific moments ... the disadvantages usually out weigh the plusses ... look at your armor rating ... it tells you what it does

i don't think *health* equates to "bulletproof" ... that is a different type of "damage" ... i only equip those artifacts for environmental hazards [not facing NPCs ] ... seems to work ... haven't really tested it

i was told to get a radiation suit after i got my stalker suit ... so ... on the way

edit ... i am *hearing* there are multiple endings and only a couple are "true"
:Q

Yeah, I think this game blows away D3, FEAR and Farcry for single player... It might not run as well as the above mentioned , but the atmosphere or lacking of it just rules ...

STALKER has some flavor to it I won't deny it. I almost feel like im back in the good ol days of Resident Evil and RE2, where you're sucked in a world of mystery and survival.

I'm just particulary hard on FPS's.

After playing for a few more hours I'm really surprised on how high the creep-o-meter is. FEAR was creepy but the whole world of which is STALKER is amazing.

Now if I can only figure out whats going on with the sound. I will have to fiddle with those settings later. Playing through STALKER for 6 hours straight calls for a nice night of sleep.

Don't have a CC or even a job lol. :)
Gonna go take my driving test next week and get a job, but for now, it's the money I get for working around the house that I'm using. And I only have $57, enough for either game. :)

HOLY $@%#... what a steaming pile of code this game is...

XP: won't load past "CLIENT:synchronizing"... Just hangs and eventually, BSOD
Vista: plays for about 30 secs, than crashes to desktop.

I played for about an hour total on XP yesterday, and it ran okay. Today it has decided that it just doesn't want to work anymore.

Ok, it appears to be an NVIDIA/driver issue in XP. When I apply certain AA settings in the driver, it BSOD's. It's running fine now in XP now. Haven't really bothered with Vista again because even during the brief moments that it did work, it didn't preform as well as XP. Yay, dual boot.n :)

Pretty decent game though so far.

STALKER actually works much better for me in Vista with the rig listed in my sig after using this fix. I'm also using the 101.41 drivers for my 8800 GTX. STALKER no longer crashes to desktop for no reason.

I'm having a bit of a problem with this game. I got a few missions from the trader at the start and I've completed some of them.... they now say 'come back for reward' in the status bit of my PDA. When I return to the trader however, I can't get in.... I move up to the door and the icon doesn't appear to let me enter. Anyone know why this is?
