I'm surprised they produced enough of them to supply the review sites.
That's why my password is always "password". It prevents me from mistyping it.I got an email from newegg that the 3950x was back in stock. I had it in my cart, but couldn't get my password right the first 2 times. By the time I was logged in, it was taken out of my cart.
Didn't expect having to hurry for my other parts, haven't decided on memory and case/fans yet, CPU cooler can also change.
(X570 AORUS MASTER)
It was at the $749 MSRP even !That's why my password is always "password". It prevents me from mistyping it.
Look at the positive side of it, you just saved $800.
To German reviewers, 3 (three) 3950X samples and 2 (two) TR3 samples were made available in total. (source in German)I'm surprised they produced enough of them to supply the review sites.
Free CPUs for everyone for half a day each.Maybe we should all become famous youtube reviewers. Free CPUs for everyone!!!
I couldn't bring myself to order a 3950x so I settled for the 3900x which should be here next week.
I'm not sure if a 3900X would be enough of an upgrade. The 3800X at 4.1+ GHz saves me about 30-40 seconds on encoding a ~9 minute 4K video over the i7-6700K in Adobe Premiere. Adobe has been getting better at multi-threading with recent updates, but 8 cores and 16 threads at 4.1 GHz isn't much faster than the 6700K with the iGPU to assist in encoding. If the supply issues with the 3950X continue, I may end up buying a 9900K even though its a dead end platform. Socket AM4 still has the likely possibility of another generation of Ryzen processors next year for upgrades and PCIE Gen 4.
What is your logic here? The 3900x is a 12 core cpu and the 9900K an 8 core. On top of that you can likely slot in a 16 core ryzen 4 cpu 18 months from now whereas that 8 core 9900k is a dead end.
I'm still running a 5 year old 4790k so this thing will be da bomb in comparison.I'm not sure if a 3900X would be enough of an upgrade. And he is missing the key the 3800x is barely faster than the 6700k with quick sync. That basically means that quick sync is worth 4c. So a 3900 should be sufficiently faster with an additional 4c or a 3950x with twice the cores.I'm still running a 5 year old 4790k so this thing will be da bomb in comparison.
I’m 15 minutes from a Microcenter. Looks like I can clear $80 each on the CPUs on eBay.
Amazon has it for retail $500 in stock. I don't think Phynaz will be able to sell one for a profit anyway (unless he is just trolling). Newegg has it for $530 free shipping..3900X in stock and discounted at Microcenter. Currently $459 if you bundle with a motherboard.
The 3950x will be in better supply by Jan. Since you preordered, I would guess you may get it soon. Be patient, you will not be sorry.Amazon said my 3950X would be here by today(The 15th) when I ordered the 3950X on the 5th. Amazon took pre-orders on the 5th for a very short time for the 3950X CPUs their next expected shipment. So far, Amazon hasn't received any more 3950X CPUs so I still don't have mine.
Maybe I should have gone with the 9900KS when I had a chance to pick one up at MSRP.
