Since I can't get i3 10100F and Ryzen 3 3300x I decided let me impulse make a decision:rolleyes:
I am going with AMD Ryzen 5 3500X However I can't seems to find much of a information on it.
I know it is in compatible list of CPU on MSi TomaHawk B350 or B450 AORUS PRO WIFI motherboards
According to AliExpress it 6 Core CPU without SMT/Hyperthreading and lower base core and boost speed. Which is yielding to lower CPU TDP 65Watts only.
Other then that is very similar to Ryzen 5 3600X.
However it is not mentioned on AMD website!
Anybody would like to share their thoughts on this ?

I am also in Canada and I think that cpu will be OK for now.

If he was going to a 450/470 board or 550/570 board I would wait and get a 3600 or a 5600x when in stock.
I am using MSi TomaHawk B350 with Ryzen 2700. I bought the B450 AORUS PRO WIFI. I was thinking about giving mine B350 to him and I would use B450. I am using 4X 8 Gig F4-3200C C14. I can run advertise at advertise speed.
He will be using 2X8 3200 C16, which can be handle fine by B350.
Plus my computer see 80% WFH and 20% Game so stability with efficient ram is essential for me. Sometimes I run my VM 12 hrs
Honestly, that's a GREAT price, and performance shouldn't be TOO far off of a 3600.

Considering that I just paid $229 + $3 for a real 3600 from Newegg (cheapest price that I could find for a Ryzen Zen2 6-core), I would have rather paid $125 for a 3500X, all things considered, although I no longer order CPUs from China-sellers (if I ever did).
I think it costs more to buy one of the Zen 2 quad-cores with SMT since those have generally seen the prices go up over the past few months, so you're getting 2 more physical cores for a lower cost. It's actually a pretty good deal after checking prices on Newegg and other sites.
I would factor what the full cost of, international shipping and import duties, etc... Ever use Aliexpress before?

Vs just buying a 3600 or i3-10100 in country with free shipping, and much less hassle if something goes wrong.
3300X and i3-10100 do not exit ..... not even sure where I can get it from. Back in June I have ordered it form B&H yet to see it.

I am paying 20% more for 3500X; hopping the performance is also 20 % more. ($95 for 3300X and $120 3500X)
If I go with Ryzen 3600X I would be paying 357% more. I think performance will be only 3% more over 3500X?
Since shipping is free, and more then likely it would come through a sea sail ship from china and would be arriving in Canada by a month, still it is not that bad of a deal.
I am simply uneasy about purchase of CPU from China. (Stereo Type of me)
Taxes are Hit and Miss. They handoff to federal mail, where they it can get charge 13% Tax by customs, and some time they slip. So lets see, what happens this time.
I have used the PayPal.... for extra layer of security.

Yes I was looking F version due the cost.
Good to know non F version is available.
I wonder how is compare to Ryzen 5 3500X. Since it $10 less then AMD.

Hmm it is 43% more costly?
I wonder is performance would be 40% more 🤔

Haha, in only the most perfectly threaded dependent scenario.

There is a reason that i5-8400s and the like are still seen as such good gaming values, six physical cores is still really relevant.

A couple of years from know who knows, but we should be getting Zen 3 CPUs at reasonable prices and easily from vendors at that point.

That's a really good point. Getting six physical cores (Sorry BullDozer/PileDriver, dual-core "modules" don't count) is basically "enough" for any modern gaming PC. (4C/8T is getting a bit tight, but still semi-viable. 4C/4T is kind of on the way out, for anything newer than around 2018 AAA gaming.)

I did order a pair of those $125 Ryzen 3500X CPUs, hopefully they don't stiff me. (I don't particularly care to order CPUs from China, too many fakes, scam-sellers, etc.)

Edit: As an aside, I would love to see a modern AAA game "round-up" with a Phenom II X6 1100T versus a 2500(K), both stock and OC. I'm curious if the slower-but-more-real-cores architecture that was semi-contemporary with Sandy Bridge quad-cores, is enough to take the crown, in really modern (read: "really threaded") gaming, in which a pure quad-core might choke on the work-load.

I received my two 3500X CPUs, I haven't put them into a rig yet.
