I'm only focusing on how the GOP will react to any of Trump's decisions when he's in office. They will not always see eye-to-eye on everything. If Trump reverses those sanctions, the GOP will be stuck having to make headlines labeled: "Sanctions Against Russia for Placing FSB/GRU Spies within the U.S. Have Been Removed by President Trump".

The GOP can pretend to support Trump all the way, but even they'll have second thoughts about what Trump might do when it comes to foreign relations. You think foreign leaders and diplomats will even take Trump seriously as a world leader?

Then again, I'm giving too much credit for a party that's spent the past eight years making sure that Obama "remains a one-term president". I have no faith that those clowns will do the right thing this time around.

Did anyone read what the sanctions actually were? They basically kicked some diplomatic persons out of the country and sanctioned a handful of companies.

Trump can leave those in place and it isn't a big deal. Russia will just send new diplomatic persons.

People think sanctions = blanket prohibitions on trade. This is not that sort of sanction. It is the targeted banning of individuals and companies. It really doesn't affect the average Russian at all.

Yeah this reads more like an opportunistic PR stunt than any real sanctions. ... there's not really any santons to lift should the new administration even want to.
