If Trump gets rid of those sanctions in his first day in office, then the GOP will be stuck choosing between Obama/CIA/FBI/NSA and Trump/Putin. And if the GOP chooses to side with Trump/Putin....

What makes you think Trump won't use the CIA/FBI/NSA as a political tool himself to influence public opinion when he becomes president?

Bush did it with WMD and Iraq

Obama did it with hacking and Russia

And Trump will probably use the same agencies to influence public opinion whether it's true or not.


My prediction: New CIA administraton decides to present what the previous administration's findings were and what they considered "evidence" to Congress and the public laughs at the actual "evidence" while sanctions has already been reversed.

I'm only focusing on how the GOP will react to any of Trump's decisions when he's in office. They will not always see eye-to-eye on everything. If Trump reverses those sanctions, the GOP will be stuck having to make headlines labeled: "Sanctions Against Russia for Placing FSB/GRU Spies within the U.S. Have Been Removed by President Trump".

The GOP can pretend to support Trump all the way, but even they'll have second thoughts about what Trump might do when it comes to foreign relations. You think foreign leaders and diplomats will even take Trump seriously as a world leader?

Then again, I'm giving too much credit for a party that's spent the past eight years making sure that Obama "remains a one-term president". I have no faith that those clowns will do the right thing this time around.

If the obama administration is trying to play 'a battle of wits' with the Russians, then the obama is losing very, very badly. Every country spies on all the others. That's why they call espionage "the World's second oldest profession." The only thing that is going on here is that the obama administration is trying to shift blame on the their own incompetence. If they really believe (they don't) The Russians did any "hacking".. had the obama admin. been doing their job of securing the National Security Intelligence and Computer infrastructure (not to mention the e-mail servers of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee), then they wouldn't be acting like this. Israel is worse than Russia. They both stole our nuclear technology (yet we only executed the Russian spies), and when did Russia ever engage in false-flag terrorist bombings or attack our navy? Any American leader willing to tell Israel to shove it is far from weak.

And Trump will bend over for both nations.
