Neah, I don't think USA can be allied with Russia just yet. Population doesnt support this and no matter what, it will topple the Trump regime. In the future, when enough propaganda was poured in them, maybe, but I dont see this happening now.
Totally true. All this talk in this thread about US + Russia alliance forming against Ukraine and Europe has me WTF are your people talking about? There are sure MAGA types who'll go along with anything the Orange Menace puts forth, but historically Russia's been regarded as an enemy by Americans with the exception that they were an ally in WW II, but even then they were regarded with extreme suspicion and as an immediate if not potential enemy at that war's end. The cold war and fear of a Russian nuclear strike on major American cities and strategic targets on US soil were on the minds of all Americans for decades. Trump's seeming love affair with Vlad isn't going to change all that. USA's historic allies in Europe aren't falling for Vlad for a second. There's talk of Trump being in Vlad's thrall because of Kompromat. Seems quite possible especially in light of the apparently deep connections Donald had with Russian oligarchs before he ran for president. He palled around with some in New York. There were likely a bunch of sub-rosa deals there.

Alternatively, the Russians can just hop across the Bering Strait, stage and supply with the assistance of their new American allies, and jump on Highway 1 bound for Whitehorse.

It’s truly amazing how Trumpers are now pretending that they have always been concerned with how horribly Canada and Europe have been ripping us off, when it’s something they never once thought about before a couple weeks ago. Totally successful brainwashing.

‘The past was alterable. The past never had been altered. Oceania was at war with Eastasia. Oceania had always been at war with Eastasia.’

I gotta say, watching this thread over the past month has been pure entertainment. The sheer levels of panic, rage, and copium could power a small city.

And when the dust settles, Russia’s stock market will skyrocket, the ruble will be doing backflips, and they’ll be swimming in cash from lifted sanctions. On top of that, they’ll walk away with 25% of Ukraine, probably throw a victory parade in Moscow, and maybe even get a discount on European gas pipelines for the trouble. Meanwhile, EU leaders will be left scratching their heads, writing strongly worded letters, and pretending this wasn’t exactly what they swore would never happen.
I have to say your honest expression of glee at this result is a welcome change from your fake concern for the well-being of Ukraine. It’s good for you to have dropped the pretense of caring about anything but Russia winning.

I’m thrilled that this war is finally winding down meanwhile, you’re outraged that the meat grinder is shutting down. 500,000 dead Ukrainians, $200 billion of taxpayer money burned, and a quarter of the country lost and you still want to keep the bloodshed going? At some point, you’ve got to ask yourself if this was ever about helping Ukraine or just ‘sticking it to Putin’ no matter how many lives it costs.

This is exactly what Trump campaigned on and why he won: to end these endless wars.

I think the odds of a successful peace negotiation are pretty low and Europe should simply plan for long term support without the US.

My question is, will Trump disallow US weapon sales to Europe? This will have a huge impact short term as Europe has to adjust to not having access to US weapon manufacturers.

How many Russians died during Putin's special operation?

Point me to the post where I expressed outrage about the possibility of the war ending please. And where I want to keep the bloodshed going. You can’t? Oh, that’s weird that you can’t and you had to lie about it. If Ukraine decides to capitulate, that’s fine, it’s their lives and their territory.

You also shouldn’t lie about what Trump campaigned on and what he actually wants or even cares about. If you believe that, you are profoundly stupid as a matter of objective fact.

And when they fail, according to Trump who will be to blame?
And after that how long before he lifts sanctions on Russia?

I kind of suspect this won't happen but then again he is a huge idiot. We sell them 10s of billions worth annually and have quite a few joint ventures. I don't even want to guess what the entire order book might be valued at, needless to say it is huge and would tremendously hurt US based companies. Other nations would probably bypass us for consideration to if we are viewed as unreliable suppliers.

Also I'm sure there is a list of things in a desk over in Brussels that could be export restricted which might nearly cripple a lot of stuff in the US since Europe is the land of "we make this one particular widget that nobody else does which you really need".

Trump wants Zelensky gone

An election makes perfect sense-maybe, just maybe, the actual Ukrainian people should get a say in their future instead of Green Goblin cancelling elections like some discount-tier dictator.

Agree. Russia is not winning, they can't even throw Ukraine out of Kursk. Even with the help of North Korea.

And certainly, if the 700b Euro comes through for Ukraine, they will be able to keep going until Russia vacates the field.

And the Euro fund will easily carry it past Trump's presidency.

The worst thing Trump will be able to do is to cancel the economic sanctions in a hiss fit since he won't get 1/2 of Ukraine's natural resources. This will make it much easier for Russia to sell oil and buy equipment and gear from China. America's weaponisation of Swift have kept alot of Chinese production out of Russian reach.
