I think Russia felt the right moment to attack us. And I think they were just counting on the fact that we would not get overwhelming support.

The culture of systematic lying in Russia struck once again. The FSB poured bribes to their stooges in Ukraine who promised them the country would fold quickly and the FSB told Putin exactly what he wanted to hear. Only problem was none of it was true and has produced the worst strategic debacle since Barbarossa.

Side note, am I just seeing copium stories, or does it look like some shit's been turning since NK pulled out? I'm seeing RU human loss numbers drop, APC/misc vehicles go up, tanks/arty go up, and UKR making advances for the last week or two.

I can only confirm that the Russians have indeed been suffering very heavy losses in the hottest areas for the past few weeks. This is what I know myself or have heard from friends who are at the front.
But I don't recall us making much progress recently, at least in the most difficult areas. But I have heard that we are making some progress in the Kursk region.

I wouldn't expect it to happen in the near future. This requires significant changes within the country, that is, in the minds of the russians themselves. I don't see there any glimmer of hope for that.

2. With what army?

Best thing they could do is engage Russia in combat over Europe. To kick Russia out of territorial gains. To exchange missiles and drones up to the extent Russia wants to be hit back. But NEVER has anyone in Europe expressed the backbone, political will, or actual military force to meet the scale of industrial warfare today. No one is large enough to fight back, or united enough to stand together.

"Europe" has no army and no will to use one. There is a very good reason Ukraine stands alone, for 3 years and counting.

Best outcome is Ukraine not surrendering. IOW, not agreeing to terms shoved in their face by Putin/Trump. Of course, that will require solid backing from allies who have not abandoned them.

I just worry about the sanctions and economic / energy blackmail from the United States against Europe.

I’d presume a decent percentage of that would be destined for Kyiv to build and purchase weapons for itself. It is much much cheaper to pay Ukraine to build weapons in Ukraine for Ukraine’s use than any alternatives. Most likely in joint partnerships with the big Euro arms concerns.

Everything is happening so fast now, the details are not fully fleshed, but I think much of those funds would be better guided towards faster production of military equipment and ammo. Even if 100 billion reaches Ukraine in hardware, they will f%^k Russia no matter what USSA says.

Drones are good, mid range rockets and long range drones are even better. If Moscow is hit by a 1000 drones on military objectives, not civilian one, although, I wouldn't mind at all, considering what they continue to do, it would be a clear signal for them. For now moscovites are safe and don't have a real, daily feel of a true war

I assume this is over some time horizon like 10 years because their manufactures cannot remotely accommodate the orders this implies if not. Also could signal purchases from the US.
