Always felt bad for the Ukrainians who had to use them. Those things are terrible.

Russia beefin up their use of them because they don't have much else that can fight? Sounds like good news to me. Nothing a small charge or some API can't fix.

Russia's Genocide of Europe continues apace.
One more missile into a dinner hall full of people.

In terms of terrorism

3.000 dead civilians.

As of August 13th
26.000 dead civilians

I think maybe Putin has taken the number one slot as the most murdering terrorist in modern human history?

I bet George Bush's adventures in Iraq would be way higher.

Wait - are you sure it was collateral damage - i mean after all Putin did say he was hunting Nazi and Utkin was more or less a Nazi ?
He was after Preghozin. I think that's what everyone pretty much accepts.

Russia has killed at least that many in Ukraine.
They have every intention of killing the rest of them, and then moving onto additional European countries.
Unless we stop them.

Absolutely. There were over 200000 civis killed there.
By US bombing and direct fire? Or indirectly by crumbling infrastructure thus healthcare etc? Not trying to diminish here, just apples to apples.
Iraq was a … well, a clusterfuck of clusterfucks.

They died for various reasons. It doesn't change the fact those people would still be alive if we didn't go there over WMD.
This is way off topic so I'll bow out.

Or the millions that Stalin had killed - in his own country - in peace time. To do what? Terrorize his own countrymen to consolidate power and implement any plan he wished with no pushback. That and he was a psychopath.

One thing that’s really lost is in WW2 the USSR was as evil as the Nazis, they were just on our side. I mean they even invaded Poland together!

Putin is trying to prove to the world that Hitler and Mao ain't got noth'in on him. Hell of a way to try to get respect from the democracies of the world. Xi Jinping is learning that being a paper dragon can get you up to the doorsteps of being a dominant world power but it takes the likes of scores of unified democracies with the backing of the USA to actually join the club.

Sheer numbers just doesn't have the same kind of kick it had so many world wars ago, and India must surely be taking notes on just whose side they want to be on.

How Modern are we talking about, because those numbers are nothing compared to WWII and many other conflicts.

People are important to the West... at least in their militaries.

Western Military doctrine is that we have lot of high tech kit that requires well trained crews. The West also uses volunteer armies mostly which means we have to support a larger range of body types that can fit inside the tank and not just sending the smallest conscripts to be tank crews as Russia/Soviet does. All this drives toward a large well armored vehicle full of expensive kit with a highly valuable and well trained crew. Kind of the opposite of Russian/Soviet tank design. This also means western tanks in general are more expensive and have a larger logistic tail.
