This just in on Twitter... with no evidence again. I'm still waiting for anything more definitive to start cheering - just yesterday press in UK was still reporting that the defense request to transfer Harpoon missiles had been rejected.

Many reports about possibility of sending coastal defense missiles, but zero evidence of actual follow-through yet.

Edit: I think the poster was perhaps confused about the difference between a Kalibr, which dozens have indeed quite unwelcomely arrived in Odesa, and a Harpoon...

Absolutely. Important to remember where we came from though, least we end up walking in a circle.

Military aid still finding its way to defenders in Mariupol.

“The Ukrainian city, which the enemy is destroying the most now, continues to defend itself! Our team managed to transfer thermal imagers, quadcopters and power banks to the defenses of Mariupol. And, despite the complex logistics, we will do it again! And more!”

Count me skeptical. There just are not a lot of costal defense systems available and AFAIK the UK doesn't have any of them.

The biggest obstacle to giving Ukraine a bunch of ASMs is compatible launching platforms.

Very interesting if true.

Not propaganda, this is indeed happening already today, for first time really seen in this war, concentrated ground assault combined with heavy close air support. Moving south out of Izyum - in particular, assault toward Slovyansk.

But they're still doing it in single file convoys down roads...

No we should not launch a nuclear first strike.

Keep supplying Ukraine with whatever they need. If the Russians want to come play with NATO make it hurt so bad they run back screaming to their own territory.
How about pointing them at Moscow and tweet at Putin that seven days from now 2400 hours zulu, they launch.
So this is the game:
You launch, we all die.
I launch, we all die.
In seven days, we all die.
You can chose to not play this game at any time within those 7 days.

Better? Was this not always gonna happen with nukes in the deck?

A bit more strategic picture view of the war today -- Russia trying to complete encirclement in the east, that would leave thousands (possibly tens of thousands) of Ukrainian army surrounded in indefensible positions, while effectively completing almost all of Russia's (downgraded) goals of control of all of Luhansk and most of Donetsk oblasts. Hopefully reinforcements from Kyiv/West can break this encirclement attempt from rear.

Btw this shit is more extensive than first thought and apparently it started at the beginning of the war, Coca Cola, Apple, Adidas and other big brands… early on in this thread i spoke towards this being Putins goal, a total decoupling from the west, hence why sanctions and bullshit bounces off him

Sorry, but no, you don't get to whitewash American history like that. That you want to ignore the genocide we perpetrated against native tribes, well, sorry fuck that shit. We have our own horrible past to atone for. In fact the Nazis literally fucking took our playbook for basically their entire apparatus based on what we did to native tribes and others.

And lest you think that was ancient history, look up our history since the Nazis. We had "observers" that played a major role in the genocides perpetrated in various areas around the world (Indonesia comes to mind, but its not the only one). We absolutely murdered tens of thousands at least in multiple wars. We stood by (giving a nod...) and watched as millions of others were murdered in the same way the Soviets and Nazis purged their societies in different countries.

The British killed tens of millions of people all over the globe (tens of million in India alone due to brutal governance policies alone). Japan murdered tens of millions of Chinese people.

Also, the USSR sacrificed millions of their own people to stop the Nazis. Without that, WWII would have gone very differently. Americans wanna act like we saved the day. The Soviets were responsible for like 90% of the Nazi casualties.

History is a little more complex than Americans want to accept. We've had blood on our hands the whole time we've existed. And we wouldn't have our own country were it not for others coming here and helping us fight. Not just the French either.
