They need to be produced in meaningful numbers.

Ukraine is the intended customer for these. The only real question is how quickly RHM can produce the Skyranger turrets for them. This could also unlock the 250 ex-Italian Leopard 1s the Swiss have but won’t sell back to the Germans due to neutrality. They could just scrap the 105mm turrets and ship the hulls.

Local assembly of Bren 2 in Ukraine at 12k units per month. Domestic sourcing of components ongoing. AFU intends to dump its AK platforms (and I assume 7.62x39) as these come off the line. CZ and its Ukrainian partner company intend to continue production after the war for eastern European countries who want to do similarly.

Me likeee. Just from looking at it it's easy to "feel" that it's very well center balanced and how naturally comfortable it would be tucked in tight in the firing position. Perfect for house cleaning and trench work. Longer version still looks good, Bren 3 keeps overall design features with improvements.

In another effort to help Russia, Trump goes from trying to protect Russian troops to shielding Putin's shadow fleet from the gaze of a G-7 task force. This in addition to him wanting to invite economic midget Russia back into the G-7. Pathetic.

"The US has rejected a Canadian proposal to establish a task force that would tackle Russia’s so-called shadow fleet of oil tankers, as the Trump administration re-evaluates its positions across multilateral organizations, according to people familiar with the matter.

Canada, which holds this year’s revolving G-7 presidency, will host a summit of foreign ministers in Charlevoix, Québec, next week. In negotiations to formulate a joint statement on maritime issues, the US is pushing to strengthen language around China while watering down wording on Russia, said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing sensitive matters that aren’t public."

"As well as vetoing Canada’s proposal to establish a task force to monitor for sanction breaches, the draft G-7 statement seen by Bloomberg News shows the US pushed to remove the word “sanctions,” as well as wording citing Russia’s “ability to maintain its war” in Ukraine by replacing it with “earn revenue.”

Alleged that the US cut off updates for the F-16's jammers. Basically everything this admin does is a massive advertisement for Dassault or Eurofighter to international customers.

It's also just a redux of the reasons for Trump Impeachment I. It's all so gross that Republicans have decided that fealty to a king is more important than their oaths of office, their obligations to the Constitution, and the need to fight and protect democracy. It's also particularly gross how conservative members of this forum don't seem to care about any of that stuff either. I hope they get to feel the full weight of the policies they voted for and they get the government they deserve.

There was another news article about trump administration looking for the fastest way to unwind energy sanctions against Russia.
Yea, he says he wants to end to war to stop people from dying but in reality he wants it to end so Russia can go back to their full economy.

Trump has probably destroyed a good chunk of the US weapons export business trying to pressure Ukraine. The Euros might not be canceling existing contracts (yet) but the odds of US companies winning new tenders or having options exercised have to be functionally zero now.

US defence companies have long used the implicit security guarantee of Washington’s favour as a marketing tool for their bigger-ticket items such as fighter planes. But Tusa said the US showing its willingness to cut off support was “utterly fatal” for the sales pitch.
“Trust is something you can only break once,” he said.
Shares in America’s leading defence groups have significantly lagged those of their European rivals, which have boomed since Trump’s return to the White House. Though no US orders have been cancelled, few doubt that Europe will begin taking a more independent approach.
“It basically signals the start of the end of the western alliance, or at least the part of it involving the US,” said Aboulafia. “Heaven help the US arms industry. This is catastrophic from an export standpoint.”

I see no reason to continue negotiating with the WH at this point if this is accurate.
Trump has always wanted what Putin wants. To force Ukrainian surrender.
Every single action taken is moving towards that goal.

I agree, there is no reason to even speak to the American admin. They hold nothing of value to Democratic nations.

Besides it being fantastic that our useless lump of a SecState can't read a map saying people should be grateful for services they pay us for is really something.

The latent Eurocentric biases of Euro procurement are about to become a whole lot less dormant.

Potential Italian military 1.5B Starlink deal risks collapse as Musk tries to meet with Meloni.

https://archive.is/fV1z0

Rome has begun to more actively consider alternatives to Starlink for critical services as fierce domestic political controversy to the deal has mounted.
Industry minister Adolfo Urso said last month that the government was working to develop a domestic provider. Last week, Eva Berneke, chief executive of Eutelsat, confirmed the Franco-British owner of Starlink rival OneWeb, has also begun talks with Rome.
