Despite the losses in their Avdiivka offensive, Russia did spring a surprise that they had the reserves to launch such a big attack.

This is true, but from what I see they were saving up for this attack for months. Definitely shades of Kursk.

@Young Grasshopper you have to love it - less invasions in the future and less war. I know you appreciate this as a lover of peace.

GLSDB should be arriving soon. I don't know how they managed to not have it integrated with M270/M142 so as to require a whole new launcher but they'll correct that eventually.

Looks like it's a container launcher, so it's just a different can of missiles in a different truck. Should be pretty effective and shipping containers are super cheap decoys.

Yeah I suspect that's what they did. The pod is the same one that goes in M270 and M142 but I assume getting integrated with the fire control on the platforms with Lockheed is taking longer than anticipated. Which is a little strange since one of the main selling points to potential GLSDB customers with those launchers would be interoperability. They'll get it figured out eventually though.

Russia is sending their boys to the front in an ancient BTR-50.

This is what winning looks like, right?
At very best, a 53 year old APC pulled from storage. From Wiki:
"The BTR-50 was developed in 1952 and entered service with the Soviet Army in 1954. It ceased production in 1970."

Some new videos of the Russian assaults on Avdiivka dropping out there.

It seems the Russian command has decided to see if they can run out Ukrainian supplies of drones, small/medium caliber ammunition, ATGMs, mortars, and shells by just throwing huge columns of men and equipment repeatedly into idiotic attacks. If "success" is making the AFU expend resources on obliterating multiple BTGs then I guess in that respect it is effective.

Hoping that your enemy will run out of ammo before you run out of people is a bad way to fight a war.
