Rush - Tom Swayer

Worst song ever? Holy cow it's annoying, and seems to come on the radio all the frickin time.

A modern day warrior
Mean, mean stride
Today's Tom Sawyer
Mean, mean pride

Lmao. So terrible. :awe:

You mean most awesome song ever, right?

Moving Pictures may have been their best album.

Tom Sawyer was an excellent song, but the radio stations have been playing it 18 times a day for the last 34 years.

Tom Sawyer is very good and radio length not quite cut down to 3:05, but you know. Other songs on the album are better.

It's certainly not my favorite Rush song but worst song ever ... not even close.

I have about 10 Rush albums and 2112 is still about my favorite -- saw them play it live in 1978, fucking amazing!

There's nothing but utter shit on the radio. Even SiriusXM is getting old. Time to make some MP3 CDs.

When was the last time you heard this song on the radio? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AT7sJkBejc I heard it a few times on a radio sation here called The Peak which played 80's in the early 2000's. Now it's a fucking Spanish speaking station. They sold out! *Ques the song Mexican Radio*

This. AOR stations have a playlist that never, ever, cannot be altered, If the play a "Heart" song it HAS to be "Barracuda", if the play a Manfed Mann song it HAS to be "Blinded by the light". Then there's the evil trio, gimme three steps, Kashmir, Sympathy for the devil. Throw in "Fly like an eagle" onto the list, and we cant leave out "Dream on" Did they even know of some of Steve Millers early work like "Seasons" or "Going to Mexico"?. Did they know that the same album that spawned "Dream on" has 3-4 other kick-ass songs on it?, sorry Sir, just the hits Sir.

Plus they sync ads in many markets now on stations of the same genre so no flipping stations to avoid them. These are the main reasons I almost never listen to FM radio anymore.

The lyrics are dated but musically it's a very well arranged pop-prog track. Concise, combines a lot of different musical ideas in a relatively seamless and easy to digest package.

BTW, the latest HDtracks 2015 Rush releases are the best sounding to date.. Rush and Bob Ludwig have remastered the entire output over at Abbey Road studios and they sound clearer with more impacting bass response and overall wider soundstage. Definitely worth the money.
