He's the most-listened-to personality in the history of U.S. radio, but Rush Limbaugh feared for his life recently and said he knows he faces destruction at some point, to the delight of some of the American public.
In an e-mail sent to Zev Chafets, author of the new book "Rush Limbaugh: An Army of One," Limbaugh admitted, "I know I am a target and I know I will be destroyed eventually. I fear that all I have accomplished and all the wealth I have accumulated will be taken from me, to the cheers of the crowd. I know I am hated and despised by the American Left."

He seems weird and Paranoid or maybe just guilty that he doesn't really deserve the money he gets paid for being a simple mouthpiece.

Seems like it would be a common fear of many a successful person. Doesn't surprise me you wouldn't understand..

I'm shocked they haven't kiddie porned him yet. Or made him commit suicide by shooting himself in the back of the head at a downward angle from 10 feet away. He's right though, they will eventually.

But until then, I get to laugh at the libs that take him super cereal.

I am in New York working 15 to 20 days a year. And I have to -- as part of this audit, I have to prove where I am every day of the year 14 different ways. [...]

The first audit was for seven years. ... And they -- they claimed I owed them X number of millions.

They even wanted to come, Neil, to both of my residences, New York and Florida, see which one was really more lived-in, which one had all the pictures. I mean, the hassle of these audits has just reached a tipping point.

I have no fear that Limbaugh will ever lose all his money, and I am willing to bet he has a pile of money invested in various secret banks accounts.

After that its somewhat hilarious when a man as rich as Limbaugh worries about becoming a victim of poverty. And in fact he could retire yesterday and never be able live long enough to spend all the money he has. Some third world country, all the legal Oxycontin he can eat, and so rumor has, all the underage girls he can ever want.

But no, Rush can't just retire, not when he can suck all the logic out of millions of his fellow Americans.

It says a lot about America when a man has to fear for his life for speaking his view. People don't hate Limbaugh because he's a silly phatty but because he's often right - about liberals anyway.

If you realize that Limbaugh is always wrong and distorts the fact completely, you are well on your way towards understanding Limbaugh. Limbaugh never legitimately debates anyone other than his fictional sidekick Snurdley, and thus is free to say anything he feels like with impunity. What is so sad in the whole deal is not Rush himself, but the 14 million or so zombie ditto heads that eat his shit up without questioning its quality or its logic.

But where pray tell does this Limbaugh I fear for my life bullshit come from? The only rational fear for that would be in the FCC reasserting the radio fairness doctrine
which would put him out of business. As for me, I just simply tolerate fools sadly.

And if nothing else, I listen to his radio programs to sharpen my sense of his lack of logic, while making sure to boycott the products of every company who sponsor his radio program.

Just to put this in perspective, do you have any thoughts to share regarding sports salaries and the pay movie stars get?

I like that he gives libtards a huge cup of faux rage.

Honestly though, the people that care enough to hate him and want to see harm come to ANY person because of what they believe in are quite sad. I assume it is because they have this unrealized elitist potential. Can't say for sure, I don't really talk to much to the people fetching my food or coffee.

Oh cheer up TwinsenT, I believe there is a silver lining in every cloud, and also believe in the Truman Capote contention. Even a brainless idiot can becomes fascinating if he just ask the proper questions, namely why are they idiots and how did they becomes so?
