Where ever he goes I hope he holds the door open for Donald J. Trump. They deserve each other.

This sounds like a good time for SNL to do an homage.

Colin Jost needs to interrupt his own lines on Weekend Update, hold a finger up to his ear piece, "This just in, Rush Limbaugh is still dead!"
My thinking is that they will definitely riff on RL's death come Saturday night. I hope to pick up on it.

500 M dollars net worth! That dwarfs Mitch McConnell, I heard he's made (or worth, don't know which), 37M. Edit: Search says $22.5 million net worth (estimate).

I'm glad he lived long enough to see Trump run out of office in disgrace.

I'm sad it wasn't long enough to see him in prison.

Only if they were members. We think both may have posted here at times. That Argentine IP . . .

Oddly, I heard they were on different sides in the video-card wars.

Quite the impressive guy when you think about it:

That guy could whine, bitch, moan and throw a hissy fit all in one word or less.

When he was on air his facial expressions would give children endless nightmares.

He could lie his ass off whether he was sober or not. He was a natural in that way.

He could spew racist invectives non-stop for hours on end with effortless aplomb.

And that's just for starters.
I doubt very much that I've spent more than 5 minutes listening to Rush Limbaugh. Repulsed.

Can't feel bad about the death of someone who worked so hard to cause pain. Whether he did it out of ignorance or greed, the world is still a little bit better off without him.

It was greed.

Took me a few years to realize it but Rush Limbaugh was absolutely positively NOT a moron.
He was an evil genius who fed morons bullshit and stole their money. He's a radio snake-oil salesman. Probably the most successful snake-oil salesman the world has ever seen.

He is also not a true believer. He was one of the many people who claimed to be a true believer but actually just kept that persona cuz it made him rich.
Just like Donald Trump.

Spot on. They showed a video clip of him tonight during their spiel concerning his death on CBS Evening News in which he declares vociferously that whatever anyone does for money, they're doing it for the money and nothing else, no matter what they say.

So there you go. Snake oil salesman, no more no less. He rubbed me the wrong way and I could never stand to listen to more than 20 seconds of him and it was always by accident. TBH when I heard he had terminal cancer I hoped that St. Peter would snatch him sooner than later.

I keep hoping someone can come up with the audio of Rush and his AIDS shows...hard to believe no one recorded them and put them on the internet somewhere.

Going back over 20 years his show was one of my first encounters with political talk radio. I guess I can thank him for fine-tuning my ability to scream at my car radio and pound my fists on my steering wheel... simultaneously.

Even as an know nothing twenty something I realized he weaved an alternate reality and was aware at his intentional hate-filled divisiveness.

If there is a hell, mega dittos to it's newest resident.

I remember, geez, something like 30 years ago meeting someone to do a trade and he had this . . . angry noise . . . BLARING from the radio in his truck. I didn't really know of Rush at that time, he wasn't on my radar, but just the TONE, let alone whatever he was saying, was unpleasant and disturbing.

I won't lie and say my first thought wasn't "good". But I don't believe it's the right choice to echo being an asshole about his death because of the way he treated others. I'm glad he won't be able to spread hate anymore, but I'm a lot more concerned about the misinformation than the hate.

In this respect he's perhaps even worse because he served as the prototype for many that have come since and done enormous damage to innocent people and our institutions who will continue to do so.

Considering my brother died of AIDS from a bad blood transfusion after a tonsillectomy and Rush's abhorrent take on individuals with HIV, I feel no remorse.

There were a lot of hemophiliacs who contracted HIV in the 80s. My brother was one of them. I was pretty young at the time but I remember standing with my mom and brothers at the capital on stage for world aids day. I think it was one of the first. My mom talked about dealing with hiv in hemophiliacs.

Remember when he said drug offenders should be dragged out into the street and shot? Then the sex tourist packing Viagra to the DR got busted for oxycotin wasn't it? Suddenly patient confidentiality was at the top of his ranting list.

His glee over people dying from AIDS always made me want to punch the radio. My passing interest to sample his rants, to know the enemy, ended faster than with any other right wing blowhard. Glad to see there isn't a fake outpouring of thoughts and prayers for this guy, though some of his asslicking fans trying to put on airs of dignity and class right now is pretty damn funny.

I'd argue that Roger Ailes, Ronald Reagan, Newt Gingrich and Rush Limbaugh set the foundation for Fox News and it's progeny like Breitbart, OANN, and Parler.

I won't celebrate Rush Limbaugh's death just because he was and continues to be a cancer on the United States, but I will say that once Newt passes, Hell is going to be very, very full of Republican trash.

Love the title of the article. Find it hard to believe the entertainment angle, but another take on his phenomena.

Rush Limbaugh Taught Me How to Think Like a Piece of Shit – Mother Jones

What I took away from that article is that rush was a troll. It also explains many posters here and why they shit post and run. He nor they are interested in a discussion, they are interested in the reaction. This is confusing to me because I don’t understand the point. It doesn’t take a lot to get a reaction out of people so what kind of satisfaction does one get from it? Is it some sort of defense mechanism for feeling inadequate or something similar?
