To be fair, Rush became addicted through medical needs, not recreational. There IS a difference in the responsibility factor there.

Seems reasonably well put to me.

I agree.

Also again he did not turn himself in because he can't. He has to be charged with a crime first.

Close enough.

To be more accurate, it became a greeting meaning, "Hey, Rush, I think you're great."

It's meaningless, lemming-mentality verbiage.

I've never once heard someone "...call in and instead of offering their own opinion of what Rush just said or a previous caller, ..just say, "Ditto" and hang up."

No but plenty of times they will start their calls off with "Mega Dittos Rush" and then go one with their conversation

Want to talk about hypocritcal, what the heck is with the bashing about Rush fans using the term 'dittoheads' and 'mega-dittos' or whatever else they use? There is a thread floating around right now about certain words and terms used in ATOT. So my point is, how can you monkeys rag on one group of people of using certain phrases (e.g. Rush fans aka dittoheads) yet it would be perfectally acceptable for another group (e.g. ATOT, neffers), to use whatever phrases they use?

You may not like Rush, which is fine nobody forces you to agree with him, however if your only arguement is because of the term 'dittohead' that is just so weak. Very weak.

sure, it's a way of shortening the usual talk show greeting BS into a couple words. It does not implicitely mean you agree with something rush or another caller said.

Some news stories say he got the drugs illicitly but since he hasn't been charged I would expect you to give him the benefit of the doubt.

You've failed me again, Red.

On the contrary, that is exactly what it means.

The argument is not about the term 'dittoheads'. The discussion on the origins of 'dittoheads' came about because someone didn't know what it meant.

And, yes, people up here get labeled w/deragatory terms, too, at times. Geek, Nerd, Loser, Troll, etc.

Rush is really quite the hypocrite, though. And, no, I'm not some liberal-loving tree-hugger. I just can't stand the guy.

No you've failed yourself. No legit DR would keep on prescribing him those kind of drugs, especially after he has on 2 earlier occasions gone to Rehab to kick his addiction.

I actually think that a MD may prescribe, just in a lower dosage. Going on presicribed opiates for however many months down to zero is pretty severe, so yeah I could see how a legit doctor would keep on prescribing those drugs in a reduced amount.

If I had to take a wild guess, I would think that he is still on painkillers (with a prescription now at least) to ease him off the addiction.

You mean like a Junkie going on Methadone to ease themselves off of Heroin?

I love the Rush fan's and defenders..

He was addicted via medicinal use, it's different....
Maybe he did get the pills legally, we don't know.......

Please, please, please.....Rush never differentiated when he went on and on about drug users destroying this country...rich, white drug users, he said, are ruining the USA...something about putting them all in a boat, blah blah blah...

I think Rush and Bill Bennett should be bannished from the public and forced to do the announcing for junkyard wars.

How so? I'm not a regular listener but I've always thought it to be exactly what I just said above.
Ditto=The same as stated above or before. Mega Ditto means that they agree with everything he says. Yeah it is used as a greeting in the sense that when they great him they are saying "First I agree with everything you say" and then go on to add their POV.

Of course these People are also known as the "U People" Often on Mondays he will state that he has all the answers "you People" will need to know as he is on loan from God with half his brain tied behind his back which has taken on a different significance now that we know he was mentally addled from drug abuse/addiction. I will say this about him, it is pretty impressive that he was able to be so articulate while under the influence of heavt duty drugs like Oxycotin which has similar effects as Heroin (so I've been told)

No, see that would be replacing one addiction with another. But, you are so smart I don't need to tell you that.

Have never heard of people going thru rehab to get and getting reduced amounts of whatever drug they are on, that entire shock to the system if you stop cold turkey. Hell people that somke cigarettes have issues stopping cold turkey, but you expect somebody with two herniated disks and a botched spinal surgery to give up painkillers cold turkey?

Contrary to what it may seem, I am not a huge 100% Rush fan, however I am open minded.

Ooh, he is talking about being a hypocrit now on the raid. . . .

I believe if you went off something like Oxycotin, cold-turkey, and to boot after being addicted to it; it could kill you.
