He won't go to jail unless he's convicted in Federal Court, and even then he could get probation. He's likely to get probation here in Florida Circuit Courts as well. They'll probably withhold adjudication. That's the worst he's facing from the system. The fallout from his conservative audience might be more to worry about, although conservatives have almost no ability to smell hypocrisy.
I agree with Shelley, of course. Drug use and abuse is a medical problem and shouldn't be in the court system except in the rarest of cases. 54%, if I recall correctly, of federal inmates are there on drug charges. Sheezh, talk about a waste of taxpayer money for a hopeless cause. The war on drugs is little more than a federal make work program.
