Rush fans represent!

I feel like pasting profound lyrics to awaken minds like Nazis viewing the Ark of the Covenant.

"One likes to believe in the freedom of music,
but glittering prizes and endless compromises
shatter the illusion of integrity"
-Spirit of Radio, 1980

I see many canadians posting here. There must be more Rush fans here now than there was 5 years ago. I'm not Canadian but close. (Vermonter)

I'm not Canadian but I definitely respect Rush. I haven't really cared for their newer material but they're legends.

I do love Rush but for goodness sake I have to tune out when Geddy sings the Canadian National Anthem! 😱

Snakes and Arrows has their classic sound but unfortunately it's also completely smashed by compression (loudness war again!) on the same level as Vapor Trails. 🙁

Rush fan in the hizzouuuuuuuse.

Though, it saddens me when they are on the radio and my kids ask "Dad, is that a boy or a girl singing?"

I thought this thread was going to be about something completely different. That said, I am not disappoint!

Love Rush. I remember having an argument with a friend of mine on our radio show because I played a Coheed and Cambria song back to back with a Rush song, and he tried to argue with me that they were the same singer. I loved all the call-ins we got on that show! 😀

I'm kind of weird about Rush

I like bands that sound kind of like Rush (Yes, Coheed & Cambria, etc.), but I don't like Rush. Never did. My older brother loved them & had all their albums when we grew up , but they didn't do anything for me.

I stand atop a spiral stair
An oracle confronts me there
He leads me on light years away
Through astral nights, galactic days
I see the works of gifted hands
That grace this strange and wondrous land
I see the hand of man arise
With hungry mind and open eyes

My favorite lyrics and they are so now.

So the maples formed a union
And demanded equal rights.
"The oaks are just too greedy;
We will make them give us light."
Now there's no more oak oppression,
For they passed a noble law,
And the trees are all kept equal
By hatchet, axe, and saw.

Yeah, I thought you were talking about Rush Lame-O. I've met some big Rush fans, well a long time ago. Rush did a song about the working man or something, right? "Working Man" yeah....

Rush is awesome. Saw them on the Vapor Trails tour... 8 years ago now I guess. Great show.

"The Trees" is my favorite bit of lyrics too.

Great band, though I lost interest somewhere around Moving Pictures.

My first example of why the R&R hall of fame is pretty dumb: Rush isn't in it.
