the first OVA's were what got me hooked on anime to begin with. There isn't a series I've watched up to this day that can compare to the Kyoto story arc (shishio makoto), which in turn pales in comparison to the work in the first OVA's. The Tokyo arc (which is the first storyline) is for background info and character development. By the end of it, all the main characters are introduced. After the second one ends, the series' quality trails off. The third story arc deals with the second successor to the Hiten Misturugi Ryu, and Kenshin goes to stop him and his revolution. This is where he gets blinded by the enemy's new move. That arc ends when they go head to head, each with their succession technique (amekakeru ryu no hirameki) to see who's is fastest, and therefore who's is best, and therefore who is the rightful heir to Hiten Mitsurugi. the last arc is worthless, having to do with elemental something or anothers. the entire series wraps up in a single worthless episode in which the loose ends arent tied up at all. The second OVA is where the Kenshin saga ends, without a doubt, and without room for any more sequels. hope that jogs some of the memory in you old timers

i'd love to see a new series with kenji (kenshin's son from the manga with kaoru) and yahiko (little boy with the attitude). bad ass
edit: for da typos!
