oh, and a quick way to test your connections is too rub some soapy water at all the connections and look for bubbles (of course the gas needs to be on and grill hooked up to the main line). Any bubbles means you have a leak and need to fix it.

And where I live, I didn't need a permit.

run your copper tubing, connect at each end ,change orifices in your grill burner valves, turn on gas, test for leaks. Drink Beer and cook steaks!
