Wimp is the last thing I'd call Scorch. The guy is twice as fast as me and a great sport to boot. And honestly I can't imagine running 26 miles in under 3 hours. wtf?
Humidity is the worst, followed by heat imo. Wind can just be either annoying or helpful, but I don't really live in a area. The humidity in the summer here fucking KILLS me though. If it's too hot I'll just run inside, in the AC on the tread.

Yeah, there's a pretty good rule that if the heat (in Fahrenheit) plus the humidity (in percent) is greater than 150, you shouldn't run. It makes it very hard for the body to get rid of heat. This results in massive cardiovascular drift (loss of plasma volume into your skin) and decreased performance. There's a huge risk of heat stroke, fainting, and heart complications if you exercise over that index. Exercise, under those conditions, is just not worth risking it.

Nah man, it's true. I'm like Matt Tegenkamp. Now yes, Teg is absurdly fast and obviously very mentally tough, but if he wasn't a ginger, he'd have the American 5K record instead of Ritz. 😛 And I do think I could be a lot faster if I was tougher. I remember Ashlie was worried about me running myself to the point that I would collapse before my first marathon, and I had to tell her, I can't push myself to that limit. My pain tolerance and sense of self-preservation are too sensitive to allow myself to do that. 🙂
