Wow. That was pathetic, I'm sure their next in command had a field day with them after the meet and greet with Rumsfeld. That said, I got a good laugh out of it, Rumsfeld is clueless.

Also, it's "HILARIOUS", not " hellarious" ;) Wrong forum too ;)

Not really, no. If you understand that the question was PLANTED, and understand the REAL LIFE of the military and government funding, you wouldn't find it funny at all. But considering the fact that you do, it just proves that you're just another moron buying into twisted liberal bullsh|t.

Have a nice day.

There was actually a followup story by one of the network news shows.

The "scrap yards", are disabled US military vehicles lost in combat and/or to mechanical failure that are towed to one compound were they are disassembled and parts reused. The Generals and people in charge of armoring vehicles were insulted because they have the resources and are getting it to the troops as fast as possible. They can only armor/repair so many vehicles a day.

Also the first part of that clip about calling up people. Its pretty clear on your contract you are US property for life when you sign the contract. However in this instance those being called up are specialists like Drs and such.

jon stewart is an idiot...although the "i missed the first part of your question" is a pretty thinly veiled attempt to buy time to think of an answer

If you think Rumsfeld is clueless, then (1) you don't know what you're talking about and (2) I'd like to see YOU do better.

OK, Nik, please regale us with the "real life of the military" - last I checked you'd never served. I have, for six years, and Rumsfeld is an embarrassment to any thinking American.

It was admittedly planted by a reporter, and its also been confirmed the military is doing its damnedest to supply the armor.

It was a ploy. You go to war with what you have, not wait to have everything you could possibly need and hope nothing happens before then.

I work with a man every day who joined the marines 17 years ago. He served two active, bullet-dodging, live-fire-in-the-streets tours in Desert Shield and is training the Oregon National Guard. My grandfather was a Marine in Korea. I have two friends of the family that were in Korea as well and one who saw a tour in Vietnam. I know what I'm talking about.

I don't see it that way and I have served. I don't agree with you so I don't think?

My mother has been in for 26, my step father for 18 - while they won't say rumsfeld is doing a bad job (out of respect I'd guess), they certainly don't think he's the best man for the job.

Well not all over there believe it. Humvees arent heavy armor vehicles, and it takes time to put heavier armor on them. Those doing this are also the ones repairing vehicles. They have had the armor and have been cranking them out as fast as they can and have been doing it long before this grunt said anything.

Exactly. Nobody's saying he's the perfect man for the job, but I'm sick of hearing idiots giving him absolutely no credit for what he's doing.
