Seems you have made some forum Republicans mad.

Poor guys, hard to love Rumsfeld after everything he has done. But why don't you guys enlist to fight in his army since you believe the cause is so great. After all how much money did we waste over looking for those WMDs? And remember. The UN was blind too when they said there were no WMDs before we invaded.

IIRC we stopped looking for WMDs just last week. The evidence was overwhelming that Saddam undeniably had WMD! Really! Too bad we just didn't know where to look.

Or didn't get in fast enough to see them being smuggled out of the country.

Or maybe the underpants gnomes found a new hobby. To where were they smuggled? I'm sure with our sophisticated intelligence capabilities we could have found that out by now?

I don't see what serving in the military has to do with this argument. Military people are just like ordinary people and have many different opinions. It's silly to say "military people think this way or that way". Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Military people don't all think alike. They are Americans, and have different opinions as any other large group of Americans would. I served in the Israeli military, and I think Sharon is a terrible Prime Minister. That doesn't mean that most of the Israeli military agrees with me, it's just one man's opinion.

There is a difference between experienceing war first hand and advocating it and never coming close to a war first hand and advocating it. this is what Nik is doing and it is disgraceful at best,

There was tons of evidence of them just smuggling them out just before we entered?

You know what the most optimistic conclusion was? That he destroyed them or moved them in the early 90s. The early 90s that happened ten years ago. He didn't have the capibilities to make anything that dangerous either. He believed he did and he did because his scientist were lying to him. I see you bought their BS too.

Tell me, are you one of the 70% of people who believe Saddam was behind 9-11? Bush implied that so many times and since you seem to be a gullible kind of guy and all, just wondering.

well, I finally watched the clip, since it came back up so often.

I dunno, I've seen Jon Stewart in better form. That is all.

I have experienced war firsthand, and I agree. But I think you missed my point. My point is just that there is no one uniform opinion in the army. Soldiers are people just like you and me, they have differing opinions on every issue in the world. One cannot say "all soldiers believe this", because that just isn't true, they don't all believe the same things. Just because some soldiers were applauding does not mean that the army in general agrees with the soldier. You will obviously not hear the ones not applauding. That was my point.
