Can I ask why in the hell is Bush nominating another management official instead of someone with war experience? Like John McCaine?
McCain would have to be an idiot to join Bush's administration as a secondary voice to Cheney and Condi Rice. Not to mention that would essentially kill any aspirations he has to be elected President in 2008.
Yup, McCain is pure cannon fodder, he doesn't have a snoball's chance in hell:
"I go out to Walter Reed quite often and see these brave young soldiers who have served and sacrificed so much. Many of them have lost limbs, as you know. And it's a very sad thing to see. But at the same time it's very uplifting. Because these young people are so proud of what they've done... This generation of men and women who are serving in the military are the very, very, very best of us."

-- Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), campaigning for congressional candidate Peter Roskam (R). His opponent is Tammy Duckworth (D), an Iraq war veteran who lost both legs during her service.

Can anyone here the giant sucking sound? It's the Defense budget, the money to defend America, going down the drain...to the illegals...and Katrina victims...

I bet Osama is throwing a party somewhere. The War On Terror is over. And the terrorists have won. Get ready for open season.

Bah. The terrorists won when the "Terror Legislation" was put into effect. The terrorists won when the NSA was given carte blanche to spy on US Citizens at the drop of a pin that even looked remotely like an Islamofundie pin. The terrorists won when the airport security got all Nazi on everything. I mean a nail file for chrissake?! The terrorists win again every time we trade a freedom, no matter how small, for the illusion of safety. Ben Franklin said it best.
