This is a die shrink + HDMI2.0 interface for 4k movies/video streaming. Why anyone would think that there is a graphical upgrade at this point is beyond me.
A graphical hardware update? No, likely not. However, it's very likely that if the capability of 4K output is there, devs will use it. We won't be seeing Far Cry Primal at 4K, but you can bet that there will be plenty of arcade games and lite-games that can be rendered at 4K without breaking a sweat. The Xbox 360 didn't support 1080p at first, but an update released at the time of the HD-DVD/Blu-ray format war enabled it, along with a hardware revision that included HDMI output. After that, there were many, many graphically UN-demanding titles that came out supporting 1080p.
The real question is, will Sony enable UHD Blu-ray playback? All it requires is a ROM4 BDXL drive (not much more expensive than regular BD-ROM drives) and the right AACS decoder. If so, then this will be an excellent upgrade.
