It's comparable because you're saying Nvidia owes you a new PC. I'm saying Toyota owes me a new Car. I never got a new car.
Why do you want a new car, when there was never a problem to begin with? I never expected Nvidia to give anyone a new computer, I only expected them to replace their defective part with a working one that would not fail again in the exact same way. You consider that unreasonable somehow? I've seen the same laptop fail 3 times, the customer gave up and ate the loss. Acceptable to you?

I don't care how they fix it, if it needs a new motherboard, or if they have to replace the entire computer, then so be it. Just fix it.
The way you are acting is ridiculous. By your flawed logic every company who says "no issue" is lying. That's just plain false.
Try to think a little more clearly. If Nvidia was willing (and did) screw over 10's of thousands of people once, chances are they are willing to do it again. The issue is credibility, Nvidia has none. That is not something you can blame me, the consumer, or anyone else for. Nvidia is responsible. There is probably no issue, but I don't believe Nvidia when they say there is or isn't. Not hard to understand.

From someone like AnandthenMan who has a beef with Nvidia and only buys AMD.
You make assumptions. And they are wrong. :D
Hopeless is hopeless.
I agree, it is hopeless to discuss these things with people that blindly choose sides. BTW I can almost guarantee you I've sold 1000 times more Nvidia hardware than you in the last decade.

Sold? What?

LOL...you think selling something means anything? Man...unless you actually own something don't comment. So unless you own a GTX 600 series GPU in your system and have something to add other than "Nvidia are liars" You are hopeless.

We're done here.

When it comes to these types of issues, Nvidia has none. Need I remind people that bumpgate was never resolved by Nvidia, they replaced bad parts with bad parts that failed again in exactly the same way. Like I said, this may turn out to be nothing, but to trust anything Nvidia says on the subject is foolhardy.

I am not saying Nvidia is a saint. Show me any corporation and I will show you a greedy money making machine.

What I am saying is that - yes, as you yourself stated - it is foolhardy to assume there is an issue. I'll go a step further, it is blatantly stupid to assume there is an issue at this point.

There was a "rumor" - i'll use the term lightly because one post by one website barely qualifies, perhaps invented journalism to get hits on a website is better - then the same website comes back and posts that it is denied by Nv along with a big blurb about how their source is has been good before but never gotten a scoop on GPU previously so they'll see how it pans out. Great job, you posted dubious information from a source you're unsure of. Cool journalism bro.

Whenever a website is defending the fact that their rumor was complete BS before anything pans out it is probably a good bet that it was complete BS.

Also, breaking news: I have it on mediocre authority from a source that has sometimes given me good information in the past that Nvidia 600 series graphics cards intentionally underperform so that later you can purchase a software "boost" that will give back performance you already bought!

Right, because anyone who says anything remotely negative about nV and/or positive about AMD is "ignorant"...

Why do you insist on putting words into people mouth?
This is the second time you do this in this thread...you think it will work...really?

No, none needed.

Well, you just did...even if you won't admit too it.

Got anymore...even if you deny it? :)

That is the way IBM does buisness.
Even Intel has been thiking about this path.

Shall we see if we can get the rumor started? ;)

Probably because it is a totally unfounded rumor that people that already show extreme bias of a certain type are pretending is a well sourced, true piece of reporting.

Not really sure why this is still here. I think I'll make up a rumor and post it on a no-name tech site and just watch as people lap it up :p

Where are they posted ? Why no breaking story on Anandtech or Tom's or Hardware Heaven ?

Alright then, who are you talking about when you said this, "I am quite sure all the posters here are ignorant by choosing...not because they get paid by AMD."?

And this:
"More like desperate times for the red team... "

Who are you talking about? People who YOU think are on the "red team"?

You havn't read the thread? o_O

I have, I don't see what you see apparently.

I saw that someone brought up bumpgate with several people complaining about dead laptops that they have had. Then several others said nV don't exactly have the best track record with acknowledging hardware faults. Are those people on the "red team" also?

If so, why?

You sound surprised and act like I am the only with this sentiment...funny!

Well NV had issues with GeForce 8000/9000 chips before.

AMD viral marketing at play? :D

Rumour started by upset AMD fan?

I say this is work of amd's advertising department, if you can't beat them ... ;]

You sure we are readning the same thread?

Beause it sure as hell don't sound like it o_O
